The staff were very friendly, and the room was very spacious and nice. Even though we stayed in the lower ground floor, the room was bright and silent - didn’t notice any noise from the street nor the other guests. The bed was quite big and comfortable, even though we found the pillows a bit too high. The Club kept a very traditional look and feel, which we thought was very nice. Common areas were also pleasant. The location was good, close enough to the old town, about 10 min walk to Princes Street (where you can get the trams or buses).
The only downside is that we had to go up a quite steep hill to go from the hotel to Princes Street and an even bigger one to get to the old town - meaning it’s not as central as some other hotels. But Edinburgh is all ups and downs so be prepared for a good exercise - and it was great value and location for the price, compared to other overpriced options a bit more central.
The full breakfast (£15) was good (à la carte) but the continental (£10.5) meant that we were limited to the buffet, and there wasn’t a big variety to choose from. It was good enough for us though, as we weren’t very hungry in the morning.

The service is nice, and the staff sweetly upgraded us with a late check out. And help us to sort out the luggage deposit. And most importantly, the location is perfect.
Everywhere with dusts. Especially on the coffee machine, bath room, lamps , and there are visible dusts in the air, even in a window-closed situation. The door was clicking all night, because of the heavy wind.
