Room was extremely comfortable and clean. Location was approx 10 mins walk away from City centre. Lovely shower and view onto a quiet street. Very reasonable rates on a room only basis. If breakfast had been an option I would have taken it, but it wasn't.
Never saw a member of staff as everything, including signing in, was done online and remotely through individual room pin numbers. Radiator pipes rattled a bit at night but didn't disturb me very much.

The shower was the highlight of our stay with great water and it was spacious. Close enough to York centre to walk through York but just out the way enough that it was quiet. There was plenty of spaces for parking in and it was simple to sort at £5 a night through the host. Hosts were hand offish communicating purely online with 1 phone call which is great for anxious ones such as myself. Room 8 was such a beautiful room and well worth the stairs it took to get up there.

Convenient enough location, easy check in, en suite room, value for money, nice and clean toilet.
The mattress quality that made for a very difficult sleep. It felt like a wobbly water floatation plastic mat. Getting to 4th floor with no lift was hard but I understand the old style of the house is part of its charm. It did feel though like just a small room in a shared house rather than a very comfortable city break.
