Lovely staff. So friendly and helpful. The room is cozy and comfy. Good central location. Perfect for a nice stay in York.

The 55 steps up are not nice after a 15-km sightseeing trek around town, but not much anyone can do about it.

Mo, is an exceptional host, nothing is too much trouble, even on his day off.

The only tiny thing to say, is the bed was abit too hard compared to what we have at home.

I usually stay in hotels but this guesthouse looked so charming and so I stayed for one night. Mo is a great host and he welcomes you into his home, even offering dinner and anything you need. It is a pretty streer and has a kitchen for guests and an outdoor area. It makes such a difference to find a place with such character and it is very close to walk into city. I liked my room with large sunny windows, and the decor and felt very at home, There was even Nespresso machine in the room.

He gave us lots of good info about York and where to visit which was good. The room was clean and decor was cosy. Bed was comfortable. Location was fine, a short walking into York centre.

I was travelling with my partner, who was asked.. "who are you?". There seemed a little confusion as she too was female, so we had the obligatory 'oh your sisters'.... No, we're not. It felt a little uncomfortable and we were sat for 10 mins waiting whilst he tapped away at the computer. We were also advised that the shower may not be working properly and we could use one down the corridor if we preferred. Provided with ear plugs due to the road noise I'm assuming. We were more surprised by how thin the walls were and how loud everything in the next room was. The shower didn't heat up so had to use the shower down the hallway which was less than ideal. I think it's a little overpriced for what we had personally.
