The breakfast selection and full English breakfast was very good. Excellent sausages and black pudding. The room was warm and clean, with a nice array of tea and coffee. The staff were lovely. I think they offer reasonable value for money in comparison to other B&Bs in York. We were able to park outside, even after we had checked out. The area has some good local shops and cafes. It's a 10 minute walk to the city walls.
The bed was rather squishy, we ended up sleeping on it head to foot. I think they need to rotate the mattress and check the bed frame. I'm not a fan of memory foam mattresses.
The toilet had an electric pump which made a racket when you flushed it, so no middle of the night flushes.

The location and the room were both great and The Farthings served a lovely breakfast to start the day. The staff were also really nice, nothing was too much trouble.

The breakfast is lovely and all locally sourced.

ALL FACILITES WERE GOOD,. BREAKFAST MENU AND FOOD GOOD STANDED. BECAUSE OF THE POOR WEATHER AND THE DISTANCE TO THE CITY WE HAD TO USE A LOT OF EXPENSIVE TAXI'S . HELEN THE MINE HOST WAS VERY PLEASANT AND HELPFUL SHE EVEN TOOK US TO THE STATION ON ARE DEPARTURE DAY.
BECAUSE OF THE PRICE (£130.00) PER NIGHT WE DID EXPECT BETTER FACILITIES.
