Campbell House

Location was excellent, ideal for visiting Lincoln itself but also good for travelling to see the area outwith Lincoln. The house was great and garden excellent for the dogs. House well equipped. Area was quiet.

Only thing was both the beds in second bedroom were very wobbly. May just need tightened up but sister didn’t feel comfortable was worried the bed might collapse.

Location and off road parking were great. Rooms are a good size and facilities provided were modern and very good. Downstairs toilet ideal for my elderly Mum. Owner was helpful calling in to check on a heating problem.

Single beds & matresses were poor. Crockery was random mix, some chipped, mugs very old, one in the cupboard hadn't been washed. The oven tins were in awful condition. Underfloor heating wasn't working, thankfully there was a heater we could use, but felt less cosy on the chilly evenings.

Overall good standard of property was good Clean Secure garden, but could be smarter

The sofa was comfy. Off Road parking for 2 cars and walking distance to uphill. Enclosed garden is great for dogs.

All comments from previous reviews haven’t been addressed! Had to ring the owner once we got to the house because the code for the key safe wasn’t shared before we arrived. The whole house was dusty and dirty with toothpaste still all over the bathroom sink and walls. The bathroom extractor fan doesn’t work and needs cleaning. The beds were so uncomfortable, not one bed is fit for purpose. There isn’t a double bed, it’s 2 singles put together with the hard frame in the middle. Told the owner about this in person after the first night and messaged about how dirty the house was when we arrived, but we had no response or a resolution over our 4 night stay. Had to sleep on the sofa to get any sleep. The plates and bowls are chipped and not enough. There are no blinds, only very thin curtains. The decor is very basic, no Christmas decorations or tree. The mugs are very cheap, the baking trays, chopping board had all seen better days. There are not enough utensils and crockery to cook a meal. No hoover was provided, we cleaned the dirty fridge and descaled the kettle ourselves. We left the house cleaner and in a much nicer condition than when we arrived. The noise of a digger next door by the owner early morning was unacceptable, our dog wouldn’t settle. No information book and no extra / spare key which would have been useful instead of using the key safe.
