Le Pont Royal is a Bright & Spacious apartment in the Heart of Old Town Amboise,
with exclusive views from its expansive Terrace of the Loire River & Amboise Bridge --
the ceremonial point of arrival to this Royal Town and its island - l'Île d'Or!
Le Pont Royal has 1 bedroom, but sleeps 4 comfortably, and is located in what was a prestigious private townhouse from the 1800's, because of its strategic position --
the Royal Chateau of Amboise on one side, and the Loire and Amboise bridge directly on the other. You could spend the entire day on the Private Terrace looking over the
Loire River, the Pont d'Amboise and the l'Île d'Or, but once you step out the from entrance to the building, with the Royal Palace looming before you, you'll find yourself steps from the Place du Chateau, with all its shops and restaurants, with direct access to the bustling Rue Nationale, with it's famous Clock Tower -- so much to see and do!
Le Pont Royal has an expansive, open planned living area -- kitchen, salon and dining area -- with 2 sets of glass doors with direct access to the Terrace - lots of natural light and an exterior with amazing views as well!
The kitchen is fully equipped -- dishwasher, clothes washer, full refrigerator, electric cooktop & exhaust fan, etc...
The salon has a sofa that turns into a Queen sized bed and a large flat screened T.V.
The dining table has space for 4 and can be extended to seat 6.
*The Terrace is large enough for a comfortable, cozy seating area and an exterior
dinning table too.
The bedroom is lit from the window in the roof, and it has a Queen sized bed and room for your belongings. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, sink and WC.
There's also a storage closet in the entry way.
You can visit the Royal Place of Amboise, Leonardo de Vinci's last home, the open market on the Loire River, or spend the day discovering all the specialty food shops, wine vendors, boutiques, restaurants and cafés lining the Rue Nationale - all on foot from Le Pont Royal. But, you'll want to return to your lofty abode in the evening, to savor all your delicious purchases while being mesmerized by the lights of the Amboise Bridge, flowing Loire River and the illuminated l'Île d'Or, all from you birds' eye view!

Le Pont Royal has a great location for visiting Amboise, right beside the chateau and the commercial area for restaurants and so forth. Also a good central location for Chenonceaux , Chambord and other chateaux. The apartment was well equipped once we figured out how to use the induction stove. We had to give 4 star rating as the unit is located up two flights of a steep spiral staircase, which we found difficult to manage at ages 77 and 75.

We stayed here several nights while exploring Amboise and the Loire valley. This apartment is within walking distance from Clos Luce and just behind Chateau Amboise. You can walk to everything! Other chateaux are within an easy day’s drive.
Nice bathroom and kitchen appliances. The deck is the most amazing thing—it has a priceless view of the river. So beautiful and peaceful.
It is roomy and very comfortable- we had everything we needed. The hosts were fantastic. I wish I had a month to live there and just take everything in.

Five star often on VRBO means little due to the review process. This is a REAL 5-star!!!
Communication brilliant, instructions and self check in were a breeze.
Simple things like available coffee, milk, bottle of Rose and cold water in fridge and ice in freezer make you feel welcome.
Bedroom has great skylight, kitchen is perfectly equipped for a week stay. Living area/kitchen has wonderful space and light.
Best is the balcony with view of Loire (perfect location for best firework display on 14th July). Balcony has great sun/shade option and is well protected From the wind. Just a perfect place to relax between the local chateaus.
Loads of river adventures. Canoe, kayak, sunset boat trips all within a short distance.
2/3 a way into a seven month trip this is definitely the best VRBO we experienced.
