About this house rental
Le gîte du Chaland is a 15th century town house, it is located on the Ile d'Or, opposite the Chateau d'Amboise. From the terrace you can see the half-timbered facade. The house is on 3 levels; On the 1st floor, you access the terrace and the living room. The terrace is equipped with a BBQ and a table and chairs for 8 people. The main room consists of an equipped kitchen (oven, induction hob, microwave, coffee maker, Nespresso coffee maker, kettle, toaster), open to the dining room and living room. On the 2nd floor, you will find 2 bedrooms (1 bedroom: 1 double bed and 1 bedroom: 1 pull-out bed + 1 bunk bed) and a bathroom with 120x80 shower and separate WC. The master suite (bedroom with queen-size bed and adjoining bathroom) is on the 3rd floor. The Ile d'Or is a haven of peace, it is the countryside in the city, you will find there a municipal swimming pool (open only July-August), a sports course, a mini golf, a base of canoes allowing to do the descent of the Loire and a cocktail bar with one of the most beautiful terrace of Amboise with its magnificent view of the Loire and the castle. Crossing the bridge you will find various shops and restaurants. The chateau as well as Clos Lucé (the last home of Leonardo da Vinci) and Chateau Gaillard are a 15-minute walk away; The Loire bike tour runs across the bridge as well as the historic heart of Amboise. On Sunday morning, you can stroll through the market (the largest in the region). At the Gîte du Chaland, you will be 25 minutes from Chenonceau, 45 minutes from the Beauval zoo and 1 hour from Chambord; you will also be only 20 minutes from the tasting cellars of Montlouis and Vouvray. There are several free car parks on the island to park. In short everything to have a good stay in Touraine.

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful furnished three floored house with terrace. It has a wooden spiral staircase with original features. Good facilities and large bathrooms and rooms. It was comfortable. We enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace. Would like to come again. Christele was excellent at communicating.We were close to the Loire viewpoint of the Royal Chateau de Amboise.

We loved our stay. The home is very nicely located and the our hosts were very helpful with check-in and check-out. The home had everything we needed for our stay and the historic character of the building was wonderful.
