We were told by the receptionist clearly that our room rate included the buffet breakfast on the day of checking out - we don’t usually take breakfast. As a result, we decided to each have a coffee and a small croissant before heading to the TGV station for a short ride to Marseille. We were charged Euro64 for two buffet breakfast 20 minutes later at checkout because the receptionist said our room rate, upon confirmation, does not include breakfast. Why were we not charged at a la cart rate?! Why she didn’t tell us anything about it while we had our coffee at her plain sight?! We were hurrying to catch our train thus didn’t escalate the matter at the hotel. This is our second time staying at the hotel, which we love. But this lack of professionalism of the front desk staff leaves a bad taste in the mouth of a returning customer.
