Location good for our visit to York. Clean and fairly quiet. Badly adjusted and draughty window quickly fixed.
Restaurant crowded at breakfast. Potholes in the car park. Room heating ineffective and difficult to adjust.

Convenient location - near start of former rail trail to Selby, also on bus route into city centre
Condition of some doors and painted surfaces quite poor due to age and damp. Refurbishing needed.

Staff extremely approachable and helpful. Room was warm, clean and comfortable.
'Discretional' gratuity added to the restaurant bill without being told - which is not discretional. This was a sly way of getting extra money out of me. This really angered me and I will not be returning simply because of this. Also - room was small and the whole building is very tired looking.
