    Great location, fantastic staff and brekkie is quality - short stroll to city gates and staff couldnt do enough to help. Walked the city and walls in 2 days and still didnt see all - free historical walking tour is well worth it. Only downside - no parking. Parked nearby and cost £43 for a 2 night stay (thanks york city council!)

    We had 1 night away in York. We’ve never been and such a nice place to go. The room was brilliant and you couldn’t hear anything from the pub bellow as it’s on the second floor. Has everything you need and really spacious.

    We enjoyed our stay, room and breakfast. Its what it is ,a pub so it can be loud but our room was nice and clean and comfortable,nice decor. Good location. Only let down was the bath had no shower attachment on the tap which meant it was difficult washing hair,rinsing

    Terrible stay here because there was no Heating/ hot water and to make matters worse the windows were left open before we checked in. This in in December and the room was the same temperature as outside, we had to sleep fully clothed to try to keep warm. 2nd night was better as Heating fixed however the standard of cleaning in rooms leaves a lot to be desired. As other reviews stated the ceiling light looked like it had grown a beard from the amount of dust on it, obviously never cleaned since it was fitted. I did message the hotel about our experience but sadly they haven't bothered to reply.
