Eine solche Sweet findet man kein zweites Mal. Einzigartige Einrichtung, ein wunderschöner Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang und eine top Lage.
Am Tag meiner Ankunft wurde ich sehr herzlich von den Besitzern der Sweet empfangen, welche meinen ganzen aufgebrannt über sehr gastfreundlich zu mir waren. Sie erzählten mir das sie selber Jahr für Jahr an den Suiten arbeiten, was man auf jeden Fall an dem einzigartigen Look erkennen konnte.
Ein Gartenreich mit Bänken und Tischen ist gegeben, welcher auch ein wenig windgeschützt ist. Das Highlight allerdings ist der Vorgarten mit atemberaubenden Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang.
Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber und sowohl Handtücher als auch Shampoo waren gegeben. Ich wurde mehrmals von den Besitzern gefragt ob ich etwas gewechselt brauchte oder ob etwas sauber gemacht werden sollte. Auch private Parkplätze für Autos waren direkt neben der Suite gegeben. Alles in einem eine sehr schöne Suite mit herzlichen Besitzern, denen das Wohlbefinden ihrer Gäste wichtig ist.
Kommen wir zur Lage.
In weniger als 200 Metern konnte ich zu Fuß an einen schönen Sandstrand kommen und auch an die nächstgelegene Taverne mit ebenfalls nettem Personal.
Da ich alleine gereist bin und ein wenig die Insel erkundigen wollte, war ich auf ein Auto angewiesen. Für das mieten habe ich ebenfalls Hilfe von den Besitzern bekommen, welche für mich eine Autovermietung im Dorf angerufen haben. Anschließend wurde ich vom Personal der Autovermietung abgeholt und zur Autovermietung gebracht. Diese ist allerdings auch zu Fuß schnell zu erreichen.
Wer noch ein bisschen weiter läuft kommt nach ein paar weiteren Tavernen an der Bar des Dorfes an, an welcher ich eine sehr schöne Zeit hatte mit ebenfalls netten Personal welches ich kennenlernen durfte. Von dort aus gibt es zu Fuß mehrere Frühstücksspots, Tavernen, Cafés und Supermärkte zu erreichen.
Der Hafen ist ebenfalls gut mit dem Auto zu erreichen.
Zusammenfassend ist die Lage der Suiten top.

Superb location at the top of the quiet road to Agios Nikolaos Beach (a 3 min walk), and Arkasa village centre is only a 10 min walk away. Great outdoor spaces on the property to sit and relax, with ample parking on-site. These units are modelled on the traditional 'cave' design, so rough textured curving walls and seating. The owners are very attentive and welcome feedback, with lots of fresh herbs and tomatoes available from the garden, and home made herbal tea. A great stay in an authentic suite based in a fantastic location.
FYI the mattress in the sunset suite is a classed as a 'medium' hardness in Greece, but UK wise it would be classed as very firm - which is comfortable unless you really need a very soft mattress.
Some instructions for the Air-Con would be welcome, as you need to ensure you do not lower the temp too far for it to operate effectively (we used the ceiling fan with the small windows open, which was fine for most of the time)
If you are 6ft or taller, mind your head!, as the arches to the bed area and kitchenette are quite low as they meet the walls ;-)

We were lucky to find this beautiful suite as we looked for quick accommodation close to the airport. Location is ideal for people who enjoy tranquility, natural beauty and sea! The closest beach is at 200 meters distance from the suite, village Arkasa is a good option. And with excellent sunset view!! At the beginning of the season you can enjoy holidays quiet and not very expensive. Suite has a seaview private terrace, newly refurbished with white built seats. We enjoyed the view of the sea in our breakfast! The suite was spacious and has bright white walls, very clean with many storage places. Relaxing natural colours in details, has equipped kitchen and aircondition, if you really need them! Hosts are polite and helpful, they offered to reserve for us an excursion to the north. Thank you very much Michael and Giota, we will see you again!!
We could spend more days at the south of the island but we didn't know that there are many beautiful beaches on this side too. Arkasa has options for good Greek food, super market, is close to airport, main city Pigadia. It is not well known by guests and should be mentioned, so people know. Next time we will know better when we visit again Karpathos!

Preis-Leistung: Für 145 €/Tag hätten wir mehr Komfort und Privatsphäre erwartet. Tägliche Reinigung nur gegen Aufpreis.
Privatsphäre: Vermieter wohnen direkt gegenüber, dadurch wenig Ungestörtheit. Häufige Ansprache beim Verlassen des Zimmers.
WLAN: Nur eingeschränkt im Außenbereich nutzbar (0,41 MB Download), im Zimmer gar nicht.
