The Old Bell

Didn't have breakfast , but pub was great , brilliant friendly bar staff and friendly locals thoroughly made to feel welcome and fitted right in .will be going back regularly when visiting my son in Shrewsbury. Excellent value for money .

We stayed in Room 2. no black out curtains and no hangers, The layout of the room needs a little thought corner shelf instead of a flimsy table for a tea tray mirror that needs fixing to the wall then two small chairs instead of one. Didn't stop us from enjoying our stay but needs addressing.

The room was fairly basic. But for a one night stay, it's all that was needed. It was nice & quiet at night.

we were rather shocked to have a random man unlock our room door and enter our room in the middle of the night. Don't know how he had a key that could unlock our door. He was confused and after a minute or two of us trying to convince him that it wasn't his room, he left and relocked the door as he went. Could have been so much worse, luckily he was not looking to cause trouble. looking through the reviews, this is not an isolated occurance with room 2. I also noted the toilet wasn't very clean when we arrived and the coffee cups smelled bad. shame as otherwise excellent value for money.
