From Lucignano, travelling along a picturesque road winding through the hills that form the natural border between the Aretine and Sienese parts of the Valdichiana (Chiana Valley), we find the Villa Bellaria.
Located on a hill surrounded by olive trees, the house enjoys captivating views which are truly characteristic of Tuscany: olive groves and natural forest.
The house has been recently renovated to offer our guests a welcoming abode, well-appointed in comfort and style but respecting the natural environment, using low-impact environmental solutions such as a ventilated roof space, solar hot water, dual water systems and rainwater tanks, and solar panels which produce sufficient electricity to meet all of the house’s needs, including air-conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter.
Villa Bellaria is ideal for those who wish to spend a quiet and peaceful holiday in the Tuscan countryside and also have easy access to the cultural and tourist attractions of the region. Lucignano, which is only 2 kilometres away, is a fascinating mediaeval village which retains it original and unique elliptical plan. Its concentrically aligned streets provide wonderful scenes and superb photo opportunities at each turn. Lucignano’s small museum has a rich array of precious and interesting objects, and you can visit the 14th century church of San Francesco which has frescoes by Bartolo di Fredi. Additionally, Lucignano is also located close to major roads and public transport providing easy access to some of the most important art cities in central Italy.

Loved this place just driving thru Tuscan countryside to get there! Large house perfect for group. Has everything you need. Great restaurants in Lucignano. Lucignano is great walking walled town. Very quiet & beautiful! You’re 30-40 minutes from Siena, Cortona, Montepulciano. Close to great hiking, biking & great wineries, I didn’t want to leave! Hostess was very friendly & helpful & even helped us with reservations. Any say enough good things about it!!

As advertised. Clean villa, good location for visiting the major medieval hill towns. Lucignano lacks good restaurants. The house needs to add fans. The hostess- provided (for a fee) dinner in the villa was great! Friendly host. Wifi works well.

This is the perfect Tuscan villa. Beautiful views, a very well-equipped kitchen, beautiful pool area. There is great common space for being together and enough private space for time alone. An easy & pleasant walk to the village. Supermarket a short drive away. We visited Montepulciano, Cortona and Assisi, just a few of many towns within an hour's drive. And Paola is a wonderful host, very responsive and even checked us in early.

My husband and I stayed at Villa Bellaria for 5 weeks. During this time we had different friends and family members visiting us with up to 10 people at a time. We loved sitting on the front porch every evening watching the beautiful sunset. It is a very peaceful and quiet location. The kids loved the swimming pool. We were able to take several days trips to visit other cities in Tuscany. The small town of Lucignano where the villa is located is delightful. I think we were the only tourists there! Paola, our host, was very helpful and attentive. She is a delight. Her sister Susannah cooked several 4 course meals for us and served their own delicious Chianti wine. We loved our stay at Villa Bellaria and hope to return again some day. This is a perfect get away!
