About this villa rental
La Merlaia (typical countryside building) is perfectly located both for sightseeing (about 20 minutes by car from Ponte Vecchio, Piazzale Michelangelo, Piazza Santa Croce and parking lot to walk in Florence downtown) and rest (it is located at 350mt of altitude, so during the night it is never too hot, and is dipped in the typical Tuscan countryside, surrounded by fields of olive trees and vineyards).
The garden have both a shady area with secular trees and a sunny south facing garden where is located the pool (completely private use). 10 km from Florence, 7 km from Bagno a Ripoli and 1 km from San Donato in Collina (bus stop to Florence, food open Sunday too, bars, chemist, soccer court). Horse riding 2 km away. Golf course 15 km. At guests disposal is a large fenced garden, panoramic terrace with gazebo and garden furniture, private 6X12 swimming pool with night lights (open from 1 April to 31 October), soccer court, basket, ping pong, barbecue. The floor pool area is furnished with deck chairs, chairs and table. The house comprises a 1 he field with olive trees. Ideal location for trekking, trail running and mountain bike. The house is provided with pool, billiard, piano, bath tub, internet WI-FI. Access to the property by a 100 mt dirt road.

We had a wonderful stay at this property- it was very peaceful and serene. It felt like a true taste of Tuscany living.
The villa is very well maintained and much larger than it looks in the photos and has an unbeatable value for money. The host was also very responsive and accommodating.
Would highly recommend this lovely Villa and would love to return ! Thank you

I would say that staying at this villa far exceeded our expectations.
The house is very clean and well maintained and had everything we needed for a great stay. The bedrooms are all huge and perfect for accommodating our large family, the kitchen is well stocked, the lounges and dining room have beautiful typical decor and we really enjoyed the pool table.
The gardens is beautiful and the pool is large, well maintained and has a good amount of chairs and loungers.
It is within walking distance of San Donato in Collina where you can find 2 food shops and a butcher's shop. Two large supermarkets can be reached in 10 minutes by car and the city centre of Florence, with all its splendid monuments, can be reached in not even 20 minutes by car or even by bus.
Thanks also to Dafina, the housekeeper, who provides a great service.

Fantastic place, close enough to Florence for the trip in the city to never be an inconvenience, but far enough away that you get the country-side experience. Lots of amenities (billiard/snooker table, small private soccer court, nice pool). Everything was clean and well organized when we got there. The locator was very friendly and helped us giving every information we needed to organize our tours.
