About this apartment rental
San Frediano, in the center, quiet area, 5 minutes walk from Ponte Vecchio, Piazza del Carmine, Palazzo Pitti, a lovely, very quiet apartment completely renovated. Typical Florentine furniture with everything needed for the living room, equipped with all comforts (wifi internet-washing machine-hot / cold air conditioning-heating-refrigerator-32 "flat screen TV).
Borgo San Frediano is a street located Diladdarno, as they say in Florence, in the district where once the workshops of the artisans of Oltrarno were located, and where the Florentine vernacular was most widespread. It is the headquarters of the craft shops and the most passionate and true local culture. The known liveliness of this district is consolidated by the presence of people who have lived and worked for generations in the streets around Piazza del Carmine. A city within the city, with its characters and stories, customs and beliefs, where you can breathe the atmosphere of belonging to the same traditions. Obligatory stop for those looking for an original and bohemian nightlife, restaurants and trattorias of home cooking and above all the most intimate and fabulous art and history of Florence.
The apartment has a very central location, all the most important monuments can be reached on foot.

Boboli Gardens: 20 minutes
Palazzo Vecchio and Uffizi: 14 minutes
Bargello Museum: 16 minutes
Accademia Gallery: 20 minutes
Duomo, Baptistery and Giotto's Bell Tower: 14 minutes
Piazzale Michelangelo: 28 minutes
Piazzale Michelangelo can also be reached by bus number 12 which leaves from Lungarno Santa Rosa 3 minutes from the accommodation.
If you will use the car to get to Florence I recommend using a garage because the paid parking spaces are quite expensive and very difficult to find. The closest garage to the apartment is located in Piazza Cestello.

On foot: the best way to get to us is seen on the last photo of the ad.
Public transport: take the D bus in front of the station stairs and get off at San Frediano.
BUS STOP IN FRONT OF THE APARTMENT. PAID PARKING PIAZZA CESTELLO 200 M
Limited Traffic Zone: The historic center of Florence is a ZTL zone which means a 'limited traffic zone' and, therefore, special rules apply to access to this zone. This particular apartment is in fact located within the ZTL area so this means that if you are thinking of coming to Florence by car and want to arrive by car, you will need to pay particular attention to the road signs and cameras that limit access to this area (they will show a red or green light) to avoid fines. Guests who need to travel within the ZTL area by car to reach our apartment are advised to contact one of the private garages in the center (the one closest to the apartment is located in Piazza del Tiratoio 3 / r) and obtain a temporary access permission. Upon arrival in the garage, guests must specify their need for access to the ZTL and the garage will write down the vehicle number plate and transmit it to the traffic police to avoid fines.
There are also paid parking spaces even outside the restricted traffic area. The closest is located in Piazza del Cestello (400 meters away).

The apartment is in a great location to explore Florence.
We were able to walk to many of the sites in Florence, but busses were available nearby.
The apartment is in a historic building, but the owners have equipped the apartment with all the conveniences we needed.
Ilaria supplied us with a large amount of information about Florence and the area around the apartment.
Apartment is located near a busy area with restaurants, bakeries and a grocery stores but the apartments thick walls keep the interior a quiet place.
We had a great stay and would stay there again.

I loved the location, quiet neighborhood, access to nearby stores, and recommendations from the owners, and them obtaining a taxi for our departure. Everything is walkable and near by. Apartment furniture needs updating as it didn’t look freshly new as it did in the pictures. I paid for an apartment with air conditioning but I couldn’t turn on the AC as we had to ask the owners to turn it on while we were in the apartment. A few days before we left, we were given access to turn the AC on when we wanted it. If I booked and paid for an apartment that included AC, then I should have been able to turn on the AC when needed throughout my entire stay. This was not mentioned in the advertisement. We paid service fees but never asked to have the apartment cleaned yet we were asked, if possible, to throw away the trash. If I paid for this service, why would I be asked to do it? We only threw away the bathroom and food wast trash out of courtesy. Other than that, our stay was lovely.
