Le Clos Richelieu

5 star rental in the heart of Amboise in the Loire Valley. PJ & Monique were the best hosts- so helpful and friendly. Answered all questions and provided easy check in and recommendations in Amboise. The rental house is beautiful! So spacious and comfy. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked. The garden is a beautiful area to sit and enjoy a glass of wine and best views of the castle. Feels like you are staying in a chateau! Highly recommend!!

Would have liked a fixed shower and toilet as part of en suite Not convenient to have to go from upstairs main bedroom through other bedroom, to access the stairs…..not ideal . For price would have preferred 4th bedroom instead of multiple beds in one room.we were a party of 3 adults and 2 teenage children who like privacy and so one bedroom with 4 single beds did not meet our needs. Didn’t appreciate that Gite was next to owners therefore didn’t have privacy which we would have preferred . They also needed to go about their daily tasks which is not ideal from our holiday perspective.

Our hosts met us on arrival - they live right next door! They are lovely and friendly and there if you need them. The property is located about 400m (I'm guessing) from the centre of things in Amboise - everything you could want is just a stroll away, And when you want to head out and explore - the road out either north or south is right there on your doorstep (but its not at all noisy - I just mean its convenient!) And you won't believe the vista from the beautiful gardens - you literally look across to the Chateau about 400m away! What a view!

There is absolutely nothing that could have been better! We loved it here. We've stayed at many 'gites' over the years with our children so we have lots to compare but this is not a gite as we know it - its a classy upmarket holiday home with authentic French decor and hostess Monique clearly loves making guests feel welcome with her thoughtful touches in decor and provisions.

This house was perfect for our family of 5 to explore the Loire Valley and enjoy all the comforts of a modern home. The house is beautifully decorated, modern, spacious, and well-stocked. The hosts are so thoughtful and kind, and they went out of their way to make sure we felt welcome and comfortable. Private parking for our car and rented bikes was especially appreciated, and the backyard was a lovely place to enjoy a snack and a stunning view of the castle. We were easily able to walk around all of Amboise and also rent bikes to cycle to various chateaux in the Loire Valley. I would stay in this home again in a heartbeat and will recommend it to anyone I know planning a trip to the area! Thank you for a fabulous stay!
