About this cottage rental
West Mount Cottage is a light and spacious 2 bedroom annexe to a farm house set right on the edge of the wonderful South Downs National Park in West Sussex. It is ideal for anyone wishing to explore the beautiful countryside of the South Downs and the surrounding area, whether it be on foot or on horseback. West Mount Cottage has stabling available by separate arrangement.
The cottage is a self-contained ground floor annexe to the farm house, with a private entrance. The sitting room has 2 large sofas and wood burner, ideal for curling up in front of on cold winter evenings. For the warmer summer months, there is direct access from the sitting room to a decking area overlooking the garden to the cottage. The dining area is at one end of the sitting room, just next to the nicely presented and well equipped kitchen, which includes a dishwasher, washing machine, ceramic hob, oven and microwave.
There are 2 bedrooms. The first is a double bedroom, overlooking the rear garden. The other is a twin bedroom and is accessed from the sitting room. There is a stylish family bathroom which has a bath with shower attachment over. There is plenty of parking at West Mount Cottage on a large gravelled driveway, which has gated access.

A warm, comfortable cottage with everything we needed. The owners, who live in the main part of the building were very welcoming and after ensuring we were settled in, were available if we had any questions, but ensured we had privacy otherwise. There is easy access to Chichester town and harbour and also the South Downs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Although we loved the location of West Mount Cottage and the welcome pack was very thoughtful, the 2 most crucial items in this property were sadly lacking. The beds were extremely uncomfortable (my husband suffers with a bad back and was in agony by the middle of our stay), and no relief could be found on the sofas as they also lacked any support whatsoever. No dishcloth (I bought one), mop and bucket, broom, vacuum or toilet brush were provided so any cleaning was almost impossible. I would suggest the beds and sofas be replaced to ensure a comfortable stay for future guests and more facilities be provided.
