Originally built during the 19th century and renovated in 2003, Villa Zamaros is stone built villas, situated in the traditional village of Maroulas, just 8 km from the town of Rethymno, Crete & only 3 km from a wonderful beach. Tavernas, a cafe and a mini market can be found within walking distance in Maroulas village which is less than an hour drive from all major Cretan towns, cities & sights.Traditional Villa Zamaros was recently restored with great respect to its traditional and rustic character using only stone & wood.Villa Zamaros has an area of 75 sq. meters and was named after a river which passes through the surrounding mountains.

We had a wonderful, too short stay at this beautiful, well-cared for villa in the charming village of Maroulas. Nektarios gave us a very warm welcome with a lovely gift basket and was very responsive to all questions. The villa is wonderful; the pool is delightful and everything about our stay was excellent. We will be back.

We had great holidays in crete in zamaros villa, it was really peaceful, and quiet. The villa is in maroulas which is so lovely. The house was good et and the pool is amazing !!!!
Nektarios was very helpful and available for answer our questions. Thank you for everything. Hope to be back.

Zamaros is a unique and charmimg traditional stone built property. Located in the heart of the village in the corner of a private courtyard. It is well equipped and the owner nektarious provides a good well one pack of groceries and water when you arrive.
The house is on a number of level which meant a bit of toing and froing from growing kitchen to the 1st floor terrace. The private and secluded poll is a good size and was leaned by the owner each morning. The pool is reached by crossing the courtyard and up some steps. Great air conditioning and good powerful shower.
The bed was firm but comfortable.
Great host and overall we very much enjoyed our stay in maroulas
