About this house rental
Villa Leon is a traditional, spacious and peacefull 2-bedroom property with a sea view private pool. It is located in the village of Tsikalaria, about 400 meters from a small tavern and 6 km from the picturesque town of Chania.
The hospitable owners live on the upper floor and they will be happy to assist you with anything needed during your stay, even though you will not notice them if what you are searching for is privacy.
Swimming Pool, Pool Terrace & Outside Area
The swimming pool sits among a stone yard with trees and flowers making it the ideal place to relax on one of the sunbeds or the sofas whilst admiring the distant sea views.
Entrance
Villa Leon has off-road parking with a sloping driveway beside the Villa to park your car hires. The main entrance is at the front with a few steps away to the front door.
Living Space & Kitchen
The villa can accommodate 4 guests in the existing beds and 2 more guests in extra beds and in the sofas.
The bright, open plan living room sitted next to the kitchen and the dining area on the ground floor is a great place to socialise after a day by the pool. The big shutter doors flood the room with light and really open up the feeling of space.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
There are two bedrooms and three bathrooms (two of them with a shower). One of the bedrooms has two twin beds and the other one has a double bed and direct access to the yard and pool area.
Our guests enjoy the absolute privacy of our fenced yard that includes also space for parking your cars. On the first floor you will find the owner who will be more than happy to assist you with anything needed.
There is a 24/7 manager, ready to help you with every need you may have.
Villa Leon is located in Tsikalaria village. Tsikalaria is a small village located only 10 minutes drive away from Chania town.
Local markets & Shopping
In Souda, just a few minutes drive away, there are two Supermarkets for those daily essentials, offering local products. There are also 2 bakeries, while we can arrange with the baker to deliver your breakfast directly at your front door.
Every Saturday, in the city of Chania, is a market where you can pick up fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as the local yoghurts and cheese. The old town has a mix of shops ranging from a bootmaker to boutique clothing.
Bars & Restaurants
You`ll be spoilt for choice on where to eat in the villages around the Villa. There are several tavernas that sell the local food cooked with traditional Cretan recipes. If you prefer fish, there are some waterfront restaurants that overlook the sea within 10 minutes drive. Or why not put on your dancing shoes and head to one of the many nightclubs or cocktail and music bars of Platanias or Chania city centre?
Beaches
The beach of Platanias is around 10 minutes` drive from the Villa, with clear blue water and soft golden sand. There is also the Blue Flag beach of Agia Marina with plenty of sunbeds and parasols to hire and a selection of beach bars and tavernas, all about 1km away. For a day at the beach, Elafonisi and Falasarna are ideal destinations! There are white sand and pink hues and turquoise waters that ripple in the breeze. Both beaches are a bit far away, but it definitely worths driving there!
Family fun
For some fun in the sun, especially when the coastline close to the Villa is wavy, Limnoupolis Water park offers a great adventure for the whole family! About 10 minutes drive from the Villa, Limnoupolis with its waterslides for the energetic and the lazy river for the more laid-back members of the group can provide with moments of joy all the members of your company.
Places of Interest
The city of Chania is not to be missed! The Venetian Harbour is fringed with restaurants, cafes and bars. This is a great place to rest after a day exploring the maze of alleys in the old town of Chania.
Within 10 minutes` drive, you will also find the Botanical Gardens of Crete that worth a visit. In that garden, you will be amazed by the variety of products which you can walk into through handmade paths. If you decide to have lunch or dinner at the restaurant of the gardens, make sure you ask for their local salad with more than 100 ingredients!
