About this house rental
The house is built around a private courtyard with bouganvillia, jasmine, rosemary and banana and orange trees. The old part of the house has all original features as well as new tiled floors and restored traditional raised beds. The new extension has a spectacular two storey light well that provides a beautiful light and airy open plan living and dining area and an upstairs gallery with spectacular views and a separate air conditioned bedroom. We spent a year renovating the old house and building the new extension to a very high specification with lots of features like mosaics and hand built wooden staircase and balustrade. The village is one of the prettiest on the island and combines the best of quiet location as well as three tavernas serving great food and a small supermarket. Rhodes town is a world heritage site and the island is packed with places of historical and modern interest as well as over 100km of beaches. It is a great house for a fantastic holiday any time of the year

We loved it here. The house is large and consists of original and newer parts; we only used the newer section and appreciated the air conditioning in the main bedroom. The courtyard was a wonderful place to breakfast and enjoy the sunshine in total privacy. Lachania was also the perfect location for us, with beaches only a few minutes drive away and the wonderful taverna Platanos just around he corner. Anyone looking to get away from the growing numbers of tourists visiting Rhodes will feel at home in Lachania, as we did.

The new part of the house is lovely with a large open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area on the whole of the first floor. There is a spectacular light well above and a hardwood staircase leads you to the first floor. Here you have large windows with unobstructed views over the valley and another lounge sitting area with a TV. There is a free wireless internet and you can use the TV to watch programmes, play games etc. hooked up to your laptop. The master bedroom is also upstairs an has air conditioning. This has a door leading to a secluded roof terrace where you can sunbathe in private. The rest of the house is old, built round a secluded courtyard and the rooms have wooden roof beams and whitewashed walls. There are another two bedrooms in this part of the house as well as a second kitchen and a second bathroom/WC.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is beautiful and comfortable and the village is also very picturesque with friendly local tavernas, especially the Platanos which is in the village platia next to the church. There are miles of beaches to cater for every taste and if you explore a little it is easy to find one for yourself or where your nearest neighbour is at least 100 metres away. I would highly recommend this house.
