About this house rental
The traditional Mediterranean House is a fully recently renovated (March 2019) family house, dating from the beginning of the 20th century (from the time of the Italian occupation of the island, 1912-1943). It was originally built by the Italians according to their traditional building style, with bricks made with local clay that the Italians produced at that time in their brick factory outside the village. The house belonged always to our family property as our ancestors worked for the Italians in the brick factory.
The very comfortable 2 bedroom house has free WiFi, is 80 sqm and it has a spacious living room with a flat-screen Satelite TV and a DVD-player, large bright air-conditioned rooms, which are elegantly decorated with traditional furnishings. The house includes a fully equipped kitchen, fitted with an oven, a microwave and a refrigerator; a toaster and an electric kettle are also provided. There is a private bath with shower and a hair-dryer. Towels and linen are offered, while a washing machine is available free of charge.
The family-run house is surrounded by its own well-kept garden with citrus trees, roses and Mediterranean herbs and a patio of 70 sqm, where you can relax and enjoy in your privacy the beautiful garden, either in the shade of the trees or in the sun, using the sun beds provided. You can also enjoy your breakfast and meals in the furnished, stone-paved garden terrace, where also some play facilities for children are provided.
The house is situated at the entrance of the village Gennadi, which is a small, quiet, traditional village at the south-eastern part of the island of Rhodes. Within a very short walking distance of the house, you can find a pizzeria, restaurants, traditional taverns, cafes, bars and shops. The post office, cash machines (ATM), the medical centre, the pharmacy, the bus station, a small playground for children, the bakery, the grocery and the fruit shop are located in just a 5-minutes’ walk from the house.
The beautiful beach of the village is only 350 meters away from the house, where you can find sun beds, water sport facilities and restaurants. Prassonissi, a famous beach for windsurfers, is located 17km away from the village Gennadi.
The famous village of Lindos with the ancient Acropoliis is 20 km from the house, while the town of Rhodes is 65 km from the property. Guests can enjoy various activities in the surroundings including swimming, hiking, cycling, water sports and fishing. The Rhodes International Airport is located 65 km from the property.
A free a welcome basket with fresh fruit, traditional sweets and everything that you need to make you feel comfortable during the beginning of your staying is provided in the house on the day of your arrival.
You can enjoy a walk in the narrow paved streets of the village, where you will see the typical traditional houses with their blossomed court yards, dating from the beginning of the 20th century. You can also visit the old Greek orthodox church of Saint John with the imposing bell tower at the entrance and its picturesque court yard decorated with a beautiful mosaic floor, made with small pebbles. Another opportunity to explore the beauties of the village is to follow the paved walkway through the fieldes, full of citrus and pomegranate trees, taste the fresh water from the natural spring and finish your walking tour at the old byzantine church of Saint Anastasia, located in the Greek orthodox cemetery of the village, which is surrounded by huge cypress trees.

What a wonderful little Greek house, it had everything we needed and a beautiful patio garden. Tina made us more than welcome and even though our arrival was later than expected Tina was still there to greet us with a delicious greek meal. I will definitely be making this and even managed to find ingredients in local shop.The village was very friendly and good restaurants. we would come again. Dawn and Ruth

alles ist sehr sauber und gepflegt
Tina, die deutsch sprechende Vermieterin, ist eine Perle. Sie ist super sympatisch und hilft, wo sie kann. Uns hat sie sogar am Feiertag nachts ins Krankenhaus begleitet. Sie steht mit vielen Tips zur Seite. Ihre Mutter hat uns bei Ankunft mit einem Einkauf überrascht. Ihre selbstgemachte Marmelade, die gefüllten Weinblätter und der Bohneneintopf waren vorzüglich. Vielen Dank für Alles. Wir können dieses Objekt wärmstens weiterempfehlen und kommen sehr gern wieder.

Die gut geschnittene und mit vielen liebevollen Details eingerichtete Ferienwohnung liegt ziemlich im Zentrum des kleinen Ortes Gennadi etwa 20 Minuten südlich von der bekannten antiken Tempelanlage Lindos. Sie ist mit sämtlichem Komfort, den man so brauchen kann ausgestattet: angefangen von WiFi über Moskitogitter in den Fenstern, Klimaanlage bis zu Spielen und Bücher, die die Vermieterin extra passend zum Alter meiner Töchter besorgt hat. Herzstück der Anlage ist die Terrasse mit dem prächtigen Garten, wo neben duftenden Blumen auch vielfältige Küchenkräuter spriessen und alte Zitronenbäume stehen. Sie lädt zum Lesen, Spielen und natürlich essen ein. Die Mutter der Vermieterin hat uns zudem mehrfach wunderbare selbstgekochte und gebackene Spezialiäten von der Insel gebracht von Gemista bis zu herrlichen klebrigsüßem Gebäck. Sie war auch jederzeit hilfreich, vor allem, als wir (peinlich, peinlich) die Gardienstange in dem einen Zimmer abgebrochen haben. Die vermieterin selbst, die als Fremdenführerin und Deutschlehrerin arbeitet (und daher perfekt Deutsch spricht), hat uns mit nach Lindos genommen und einen halben Tag durch Rhodos-Stadt geführt, wo sie uns auch viele Ecken gezeigt hat, die man als Tourist sonst sicher nicht so findet, und unendlich viel aus der bewegten Geschichte der Insel erzählt hat. Kurzum ist es nicht nur die perfekte Ferienwohnung, sondern auch noch Familienanschluss, der bereichert ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Wie kommen gerne wieder!

Très jolie petite maison dans un village typique, à 2 pas des petits commerces et 5 minutes à pieds de la plage.
Terrasse sympathique, et petit verger dont on peut profiter à partir de fin octobre (citrons, mandarines...). La maison est bien équipée, tout ce qu'il faut pour un bon séjour. Le plus important : un accueil exceptionnel et une grande disponibilité de Tina et sa maman (qui habite Gennadi). Un plat chaud grec typique à notre arrivée, et surtout de nombreux conseils pour découvrir Rhodes. Nous recommandons vraiment ce logement pour une immersion au cœur d'une petite ville, un peu à l'écart des grands hôtels ou hébergements récents et standardisés.
