“Comfortable stay, but parking is a serious problem” I recently stayed at Melrose Villa and while the accommodation itself was fine, the parking situation was extremely frustrating. The listing mentions free public parking nearby, but this is very misleading. There are no dedicated parking spaces, and most of the surrounding streets require resident permits. Despite driving around multiple times, I couldn’t find any unrestricted parking close to the property. I eventually parked where I thought it was allowed, only to discover later that it was a permit-only zone — and I ended up with a parking ticket. For anyone arriving by car, this is important to know: parking is not guaranteed, not convenient, and can easily lead to fines if you’re not familiar with Inverness’s controlled parking zones. The stay itself was fine, but the parking issue had a big impact on my overall experience. I would strongly recommend that the property update its listing to make the parking limitations clearer so future guests aren’t caught out.

It was extremely difficult to find legal parking, and I ended up receiving a parking ticket despite trying to follow the signs. The Wi‑Fi in Room 1 didn’t work at all during my stay. I tried reconnecting multiple times, but the signal simply wouldn’t load anything. I also couldn’t get any help from staff. I tried calling and using the chat, but no one responded with useful support. The only reply I received was from someone with a Kenyan number who said they were off duty, which didn’t help resolve the issue. Overall, the lack of reliable parking, non‑functional Wi‑Fi, and limited staff support significantly affected my stay.

Location and the room were spectacular. The kitchen was nice though the floors could’ve been a little cleaner. Overall a lovely place to stay and we wish we could’ve stayed longer

The wifi was truly atrocious and unusable. It was so slow it was infuriating and we had to use our data to get anything done. As well, when checking out, they were a little picky when it came to trash and what would be left behind.

The cleanliness. The attension to detail .providing everything you could think of .pillow and matress protectors. Washing machine tumble dryer hair dryer tea coffee sugar shower gel hand soap .washing up liquid .cooking facilities .the house is warm with a lounge .I can not believe in this current climate you get more than expected .the domestic cleaner here is a gem

The stay was fine, the staff on ground doing the laundry and cleaning, nicola and team are lovely people. Room is ok, facilities in kitchen are good, wifi is horseshit. And shared bathrooms but clean. Tesco is nearby.

the management is straight out disappointing. The WiFi was non existent, had chased up so much but futile. The management is aware that WiFi isn't working then why not let guest know about it earlier. And the way it was handled as if it's a new problem and later to only come back to me saying that management is aware and working on it. Then why pretend or get the customers hope up by thinking that net will sort out soon. Why should we be spending so much money on roaming charges to use internet as brother had come from Australia and my sim from uk had the poorest network. This is absolute ludicrous, and the audacity of the management people to advise that I use my phone data. I know, that what we have been doing. And the property isn't worth the money. And no humanitarian grounds for cancellations especially when I had requested so much for it. And ended up coming for the trip as there was absolutely no refund. I don't think i will stay again. Please put up on the site if the wifi is working, it's one basic need especially for international travellers.
