About this apartment rental
Welcome to "Villa La Loire" ! This large and attractive apartment has a side view on the Castle of Amboise, and looks directly out on its fortifications and the "Tower des Minimes". Its quietness, the vicinity of the Loire river, visible from the apartment (just 50 meters from the house), and its private garden will charm you. The house itself , that dates back up to the 17 th Century ( some peope say 16 th Century), is located in a small street, in which are only two houses, our own house and the Manor of the Minimes, which is presently a four stars hotel. The latter and our house were part of the land of the Congregation of the Minimes, the ancient oratory of which stands along the cliff, in our garden.

Overall, this was a great place for our family of five adults to stay for our four nights in the Loire Valley. The location can’t be beat, although access to it in a larger vehicle is dicey. Parking on the nearby street was much easier than navigating the tiny one-way alleys to get to the parking area in front of the property.
Our host, Etienne, was charming and helpful. We couldn’t get a consistent internet connection from the WiFI and he tried very hard (although unsuccessfully) to get it working for us. We very much appreciated his effort, though.
The apartment is described as having 4 bathrooms. It actually has one bathroom, plus a room with a sink, shower and clothes washer, and a separate tiny room with only a toilet. It works but it was a little awkward at times.
We never got the stove to work, but we didn’t really need it — the microwave sufficed — and we didn’t ask for help, so maybe it was just our ignorance of that type of appliance.
There was lots of room to spread out and to kick back and relax, plus spectacular views of the castle. All-in-all, this property is a good value. And for travelers with small children, there was a plethora of cribs, high chairs and toys.

This apartment was the perfect location and our hosts were wonderful! We had a 14 month old baby with us and Veronique made sure that we had everything we needed-including crib, high chair, and lots of toys. We loved being so close to the castle and the center of AMBOISE. We would definitely stay here again!

My husband’s parents, our three children, and my husband and I stayed in this beautiful apartment for four nights in August. It is a spacious apartment in a beautiful, historical home in walking distance to everything in Amboise which is a perfect “home base” in the Loire. The apartment is thoughtfully decorated and has everything we needed for an enjoyable stay - even including high chairs and toys and games for the children! The views from the bedroom windows were out of this world. My nun year old commeneted that “it’s like we are staying next door to Cinderella’s castle!” Etienne was so kind and helpful with everything from parking, to sites and itinerary planning, to practicing our French. Before arriving, Véronique was so responsive and helpful in planning our trip. We hope to return to the area and will definitely stay in this property again if available. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
