Claudia was very friendly and explained how everything works in the apartment. You get a lockable room with ensuite, and there's access to her kitchen for tea, coffee, water. The shower was great with great water pressure. Very thoughtful and comprehensive documentation available in the room about everything going on in the area. You should just be aware that the location is a 20 minutes walk from the Newhaven train station, but the host provides a phone number for a local taxi cab that does the drive foe £5, so not a problem. Location is close to the coast, just around the corner from a lovely pub overlooking the sea.
In addition to the regular double bed, a single bed was available for our daughter, but the mattress on that one is arguably too soft and didn't offer much support. She didn't mind for one night.

Location excellent for early morning ferry
Room and bed very small. Bed described as 131-150 cm wide. Didn't measure it but fairly sure it was less than 131.
