Hotel Leprince, Best Western Premier Collection

Well situated at the edge of the old town centre, which is worth a visit, especially the cathedral area. Secure parking (10 euros) was welcome. Comfortable room. Excellent buffet breakfast.

No complaints except that there were lots of young people enjoying themselves at a VERY loud event in the hotel courtyard. Bah, humbug from this crotchety oldie. It was a bank holiday celebration so presumably a rare event. We were able to return to a quiet hotel after dinner elsewhere. Would like to have seen the hotel when it wasn’t en fete.

The location was great and check in was easy.

We really didn’t like very much about the hotel. On arriving to the booked Deluxe Double I’d say it was far from deluxe. Dark and small. We requested to move. Think we got a suite - in the attic! Yes bigger and a separate lounge space! But again so dark (no lights at all in the lounge) we had to request lights (3 were bought up). We discovered the light switch which couldn’t operate lights (there were none) actually operated the power switches (shame we didn’t know this whilst trying to charge our devices overnight!) but would you know that?? Doors don’t stay pushed unless you close them fully. Velux window above bed - let’s a stream of light in as soon as the sun comes up - bring eye covers! Bed is like a brick. Water took several minutes to get hot (set your alarm early to factor that in!) and the kettle which we thought wasn’t working did start to boil after 5 minutes!
