About this house rental
At 25km from the center of Florence (Sitriano, Vaglia), originally a watchtower from the Roman era, the Setrius Tower looks like an independent building with three floors with living room and kitchen on the ground floor, toilet with shower and bedroom on the first floor , three bedrooms on the second floor and toilet with shower.
In the garden there is a wood oven and a barbecue.
Pets allowed.
The house is located on a hill at an altitude of 500m in front of Monte Morello, surrounded by Turkey oak, ash and elm woods. In the surroundings: Montesenario with its monastery (15km), the green Mugello, Fiesole (18km), Bilancino lake (17km), Pratolino and Villa Demidoff park (8km). For shopping lovers Outlet in Barberino di Mugello (22km). Excellent for those who after a day in Florence want to rest and take walks in the nature or wake up in the morning with birdsong.
To get there you need a car, possibly not too low, because there are about 2km of white road, even if a 4x4 is not necessary. You get to Florence in about 30/40 minutes by car but you can also leave your car in Vaglia (6 km away) and take the train to Florence SMN center. In Vaglia, in addition to the train, there is a bus service to and from Florence, as well as to Mugello.

It is a beautiful stone house in the countryside above Florence. It was quiet and peaceful with a lovely view out over the mountainous countryside. Access to the house is up a one lane rough dirt road. When we were there in December, it got a little muddy and challenging (but we like a good challenge). It was about half an hour to get into Florence and about 15 minutes down to the main road for trips to other towns. The house itself is excellent and charming, very comfortable, functional and well constructed. There is a fireplace, books and games, and plenty of cooking and eating equipment. The bedrooms are on floors above the main living area. The view from the upstairs bedroom is fantastic. We give this place a full 5 out of 5.
