CA SAN BIAGIO

The apartment was lovely, very spacious and perfectly located just across the canal from Venice. Lots of restaurants nearby and a two minute walk to the Vaporetto stop. The views from the apartment are stunning and the decor was typically Italian and very comfortable.

We spent every day getting up and going sightseeing because the apartment is perfectly situated. Unfortunately, on our last day we decided to go to the Lido and I left some items of jewellery in the apartment because I didn't want to wear it to the beach. However, when we got back in the afternoon, a necklace and gold earrings were missing, and these can only have been taken by someone who had a key to access the accommodation as the front door is very secure with a mortice deadlock. This is a very unfortunate episode which has obviously tarnished the stay at San Biagio and I am currently trying to sort it out via Booking.com as the host speaks very limited English. I will however not let this event ruin the time we spent in this beautiful apartment, and the fantastic five days we have spent in Venice.

Každé ráno nádherný východ slunce. Kousek od zastávky lodní MHD. V blízkosti Coop potraviny a výborná pizerie. Velmi milá paní, která nám předala klíče.

Location and view are amazing. Air conditioner worked. Nice stores a few blocks away. Far away from main Venice (is on the southern island of Giadecca, which is more like a village outside of Venice). LPV restaurant was very good. Harry Dolci is also very good, though too expensive to do often.

Power went out when using the washer. It flipped a surge protector. Air conditioner? No problem. Washing machine? POOF! And it is a front-loading Miele, so your clothes are imprisoned in the machine. Performed a prison break by using delicate COLD water. Suspect it was the heater coil inside the machine pulling too much current, but for the record: It worked the day before when we did darks. So something changed. Called the owner, but her phone was off or something. Luckily the neighbors upstairs showed us where the electrical box was for the main building, since 1) as noted could not get a hold of the property representative through either Booking.com nor her phone number, and 2) the building maintenance guy doesn't work in the afternoons when 'it is hot', which is most of the time in Venice from June onward. Sincere thanks go out to the neighbors above. Also, the water-bus strike on Friday was fun. Luckily we had arrived three days prior and had visited most of the places we wanted and ate at several different areas.
