La Striscia Wine Resort

This is a beautiful property. One can easily see the care and love they have put into building and maintaining it. Our room was wonderful and extremely comfortable and my partner and I really enjoyed some TV downtime on the big screen TV after running around for a week. We slept really well, had the best shower and enjoyed the peace and quiet in this place.

My main issue with this place is the lack of information and a general lack of hospitality. Our check in was chaotic as we were told at noon that reception would be shut from 1 PM to 4PM. There was no information on where to park or where to enter from or any help with the bags. We had to carry our bags from the parking lot as the wheelies don't do well on gravel. Just telling us that we should get our car inside and take our bags out and then park would have been helpful but there was none. We were looking forward to our time at the pool but the pool area looked abandoned and poorly maintained so much so that we tried to clean the pool ourselves till we got tired and gave up. The hotel restaurant had a limited menu and I am sure that they would have accommodated us but it would have been nice to offer and ask. We had looked forward to spend an entire day at the resort but ended up heading to the city for 4-5 hours and returning only when it got dark. Maybe it is my problem that I had high expectations but I don't think it's too much to ask to feel welcomed in a place. After staying at moderate B&Bs in our trip, this was our splurge but I regretted it instantly after the chaotic check in experience and the general lack of hospitality.

The garden and outdoors are beautiful and its a peaceful and relaxed setting. Breakfast was excellent, lovely food, beautifully presented and very generous. The staff were fantastic and so warm and friendly. Nice to have the option to dine in at night too, we enjoyed that after travelling.

There was a few broken and missing kitchen items/equipment. A bit more attention to the basics would definitely improve the experience. Things like tea, coffee, tea towels. I booked 2 rooms for our family and we muddled along but Abnb rooms we've been in definitely offer more attention to these helpful comforts.

Most expressive and perfect stay during our 2-week Tuscany trip, we would definitely stay at least 4 nights next time, to explore the area and enjoy the resort. Thanks to Tomaso and Marco for the warm welcome.

Everything is amazing. The place, the rooms and the staff very kind. Amazing interior of the place and wonderful outside gardens. Worth every penny and can't wait to go back there.
