This beachfront bungalow sits directly on the central coast with spectacular views, spanning from Port San Luis all the way to Pismo Beach sand dunes. Walk down our private staircase and enjoy ocean tide pools and paddle out to neighboring surf breaks. Built in the 1950s, this mid-century modern home is the perfect place to gather family and friends.
The Space
This original mid century surf shack is all about location, location, location. Located in the heart of Shell Beach, a short walk or bike ride will get you to neighboring restaurants, hiking trails, parks, coffee shops, or beaches! This 3 bed / 2 bath home sleeps 8, with spacious living, kitchen, and dining areas, a laundry room, and a private backyard with an outdoor shower. The garage is equipped with bikes, beach chairs, and BBQ for your enjoyment.

It’s a great little place with an amazing view. The house is old and would benefit from some upgrades. The location you cannot beat. I would stay here again.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the beach house with its otters and seabirds visiting the cove daily. It was fun sitting on the bench at the bottom of the stairs watching tidal changes and on the deck. The house was comfortable and very clean (except for cobwebs outside all entries and dirty master bedroom/kitchen windows that spoiled the view) but could have used lots more lighting in the bathrooms and garage plus rug grippers for curled-up rugs (trip hazards), as well as some home repairs (front and side doorknobs/locks made entering property a challenge). We enjoyed the little niceties, such as bath products, variety of kitchenware (except enough spoons), and food in pantry but would have appreciated a laundry basket, dish drainer, sink plugs, pot holders, etc. Most of all, the small house would be better off with retro decor and less & smaller furniture to accommodate less guests but highlight the mid century modern theme. The heating system was old but still worked well as did the tiny dishwasher and cozy showers (although operating instructions would be helpful). The laundry center was very appreciated. The property was just a few minutes drive from downtown Pismo Beach and Monarch Grove, and Shell Beach tide pools & Pirates Cove were easy walks up the street in each direction. Close to Hwys 1 & 101, and located only 30 min. or less from Morro Bay, Avila Beach, Nipomo Dunes, etc. Overall, we had a fun and relaxing time and recommend this bungalow house in Pismo to all.

House right on the ocean and very clean.
Kitchen provided essentials for four. We were seven.
We were told there was extra bedding for futons and couches.
Slept with curtains covering us!!
My sister had morning coffee in a bowl!!
Waiting for damage deposit. No reply from hostess about lack of kitchen supplies!!
