LOGE DE L'OPERA

The location was unbeatable, close to a metro station and bus stop and an easy walk into the old town and to lots of good restaurants on the peninsula. The washing machine was a boon but a folding drying rack would have been useful. We greatly appreciated the host's generosity in providing food for breakfast in the fridge/freezer. Once we worked out how to use the coffee machine (we are old!), we loved the coffee it made and the frothy milk.

The bath towels were thin and rough to the skin. The motion sensitive light in the courtyard that the apartment overlooks went on and off all night long, possibly due to the heat. The courtyard was not part of the property but it was still very annoying. It would have been helpful to have been told that there was a fan and an extra pillow in the drawer under the bed. We only found them as we were leaving!

The attention to detail at Loge de L’Opera is SUPERB! If I had known it was going to be this lovely I would have stayed in Lyon longer than just one night. The space was clean and the location was fantastic - perfectly within walking distance to all of the things we wanted to see in Vieux Lyon. The host went above and beyond with things available in the room - snacks, drinks, fresh coffee, food for breakfast. So unexpected and so appreciated. They were also so helpful when we forgot an item in the room to make sure it was found and sent back to us in Canada. I cannot recommend this place enough. Perfect for family, friends, or couples to visit. Especially grateful for the binder with in-depth information about the room, the amenities, and good things to see in the area. This is certainly on my list for places to book if I return to Lyon.

I have very few complaints, honestly. It would be great to have a lamp/light upstairs in the loft but that is such a minor detail. Overall it was truly excellent.

Ideal location for exploring the city whether on foot or public transport e.g. Metro. Despite city centre location the apartment was very quiet. Breakfast for first morning provided.
