I loved the location, the welcoming and helpful staff, my very comfortable bed, the view of NotreDame de Fourviere from my window, the ambience of this historic building, its decoration and beauty.
I didnt have a tea/coffee making machinein my room, and there was no variation in the menu during my 4 day booking.
The lift had a character of its own which was amusing.

Excellent location. Really easy to get around the city as the metro and tram is so close. Amazing breakfast - my main reason to book this place. I wasn’t disappointed. Friendly staff and very comfortable bed.

Hôtel Mercure Lyon Centre Château Perrache is a charming hotel situated in a prime location near the heart of Lyon, making it an excellent choice for visitors. As it was my first visit to Lyon, I found Château Perrache perfectly situated for exploring the city’s main attractions and transportation hubs. The room I stayed in was spacious, comfortably furnished with modern decor, and had a charming ambiance that made me feel at home. It was spotlessly clean, with thoughtful touches such as a re-filled water bottle each day and complimentary drinks in the minibar.
However, I must mention a disappointing aspect: both hotel entrances appeared unwelcoming and quite plain. I understand this is due to ongoing construction work, which initially caught me off guard upon arrival.
On a positive note, the hotel staff truly stood out. Their service was exceptional, I would confidently rate them a 10 out of 10. Every staff member I encountered was genuine, friendly, and professional without being overly familiar. Special praise goes to the restaurant and bar staff, as well as the two ladies and a young gentleman at the reception desk. Although I regret not remembering their names, their attentive service made a lasting impression.
Overall, I believe Mercure could elevate its guest experience by adopting the excellent customer service standards demonstrated at Château Perrache across all areas of the hotel.
Need to work on WiFi connectivity to improve signal strength and stability.
