Granda Sweet Suites

The bed was big and comfortable. The location was perfect, just in front of the San Samuele vaporetto

It was a bit small. We had to put our baggages on the bed to pack and unpack.

Location. Our Jr. Suite allowed us to watch the boats go by on the Grand Canal. The “2” public ferry (blue boats) from the train station drops you right by the front door (San Samuele). 10 minute walk to all of the touristy areas. Cleaner than the reviews led me to believe. Tip #1: the public ferry (Alilaguna-yellow boats) to the airport does not leave from San Samuele ferry stop but the next closest (again, 10 minute walk).

Initial arrival. The phone number you are given is answered by a third party service who has never been to the property. Tip #2: head to the big brown entry door (also the nearest) to the right as you disembark the S. Samuele ferry. Push the “Granda Sweets” door bell repeatedly until someone remotely unlocks the building entry door). Once you enter the lobby head up the 20 or so stairs. At the top of the stairs is a white door which is for the hallway to the rooms. It has a sign identifying the hotel. Can’t miss it. Look for a black piece of plastic to the left of door. Touch it and it lights up to become a keypad to enter the code you received early in the day. You get into your room also by using a black keypad on the room door.

It was easy to get to. The instructions were ok. Plenty of space

Hard to get back to st lucia . Very hot inside. The bathroom downstairs was a hazard for an older couple.

The location was amazing. It was steps away from a water bus stop. After exploring the area, we found a plaza, nice shops, restaurants, and a market. There were other water bus stops so you had an option to many destinations.

Unfortunately, the facility was not as clean as we had hoped and the AC only worked in the kitchen area and the landing at the bottom of the stairs. There was a kitchen but we were not allowed to use the kitchenette. We did have access to the refrigerator but had not been defrosted for quite some time. The main bedroom did not have AC but we did find a fan. Don’t open the windows as the bugs will fly in and attack one of you. Our younger son was the target of these bugs. The room downstairs had some sort of AC but it was very warm with a distinct odor. The bathroom was passable but only by a margin.
