We stay in Room 3 as we are a family of 3. We like the high security of this hotel, having to close or sometimes lock doors behind us after we entered the main entrance and walk through narrow corridor. This is probably because the hotel location was at the end of an alley and next to a pub.
The hotel is situated within walking distance to city centre where everything is happening and shopping area. However, the room was small for 3 person with large baggages. The hotel is located 1 level below street level, we have to make a big loop, as such, its quite inaccessible if you have suitcase with rollers, given that most pavements are cobbled and staircased.
Having said that, we couldn't ask for more for a affordable 2 nights stay in Edinburgh old town with such good location and a room that has hair dryer, ironing board and iron.

Loved our stay here, everything was nearby. So many food and bars option. Property was a bit hard to find but not impossible. There are bars surrounding the property but we are both heavy sleeper so it didn’t bother us much. It was affordable as well so no complaints.

Location is shady. You need to pass by lines of garbage bins(foul smell). Dead-end, small alley. You are beneath an establishment so in the event of quakes,& fire, you will be in big trouble Loud noise at night. If you are prone to dust allergies, pls stay away from this place.
