2 pals travelling for a couple of days. Stayed 1 night in room 126, 1st floor twin room. This is a 1960's style hotel, a little tired around the edges. The staff were accommodating and polite.
The room was acceptable, with a comfortable bed, toiletries in the bathroom and a good shower. Picked this hotel because of the location right near the old town and minutes from the Cathedral. It is kind of on par with a Premier Inn or Travelodge. Did not have breakfast as ate at a nice little tea room just down the main road into the city. BE WARNED, they do have parking HOWEVER there is a charge of £7:00 per night, which is NOT STATED when booking.

The basics are just not acceptable. No coffee machine in the breakfast area which you’d find in any travelodge , the finish in the bathroom is beyond amateur. The stunning view of the cathedral from the breakfast area is spoiled by 1970s net curtains and filthy windows. The most basic, cheapest TV is placed in the corner and not even wall mounted. The remote buttons are worn down. The bedroom furniture is so old and worn even a charity shop would reject it. With serious investment and up to date hospitality management, it would be an awesome venue. The structure and design is actually very cool. Let down by dirtiness which is impossible to keep hygienic as it’s so old. Breakfast was relatively decent though the Lincolnshire sausages - which should be a key offering - were undercooked. Wasted opportunity and over priced.
