About this villa rental
Villa Elena is a very spacious family-friendly villa, in a private, enclosed and not overlooked land plot. Its interior includes 4 spacious bedrooms that can comfortably sleep up to 8 adults, a very large open plan living-dining-kitchen area with ample sitting for all our guests and two bathrooms. The exterior area's luscious garden, private swimming pool with separate children's pool and adjacent BBQ, will be the perfect surroundings for you to enjoy a rejuvenating holiday in Crete!
Villa Elena is located 14 kilometres east of Rethymno, on the outskirts of Viran Episkopi, a quiet village built around the old diocese of 'Agrion' which had been established in the area during the Venetian occupation of Crete. Its central location along the island and its proximity to the north National Highway (2,5kms away) make it the ideal accommodation for excursions the west, east, north and south parts of Crete!
The villa is 180sq.m. large, has a 45sq.m. private swimming pool with separate children’s pool and is surrounded by a rich, beautiful garden within a 14.000sq.m. private olive grove.
The first floor main entrance leads into a large open plan dining room/lounge furnished with period furniture, an adjacent sitting room with comfortable sitting, followed by a fully equipped built-in kitchen with a large dining table. There is also a spacious bathroom with shower/WC.
A wooden staircase leads to the second floor which has four bedrooms, all of them with air-conditioning and a spacious bathroom with bathtub/WC.
Two of the bedrooms have queen-size double beds and two have twin beds. A baby cot is available on request.
The balconies spanning around both floors offer you breathtaking, panoramic views towards the mountains of Psiloritis and Lefka Ori and the surrounding landscape.
The nearest taverns can be found at 300m distance in Viran Episkopi, whereas the sandy beach and nearest super-markets are in Stavromenos just 2,5 Kms away.
In the small town of Perama 10 Kms away, there are super-markets, banks and ATMs, the post office, taverns and a large variety of shops.
Interesting nearby outings can be made to the traditional village of Margarites, the historical monastery of Arkadi, the ancient ruins and the museum of old Eleftherna. Due to the quiet setting, a car would be considered essential to explore the immediate area and the island in general.

The villa matched all the descriptions and promises. It was well-equipped, with functioning air conditioning in the bedrooms and an excellent pool area. The location was ideal for holidaymakers traveling by car. Yiannis was a caring host who ensured everything met our wishes and needs. His mother, Maria, greeted us upon arrival and had prepared a delicious homemade meal as a welcome gesture. We were very satisfied with our accommodation and holiday at Villa Elena.

The stay started with being greeted with a home cooked dinner of oven roasted chicken and vegetables with a yummy dessert. After just over 24 hours of traveling this was so appreciated and just what we needed to start the two weeks.The Villa is beautiful and the support from the owner and his family and friends for any issues was wonderful to know we had should we need it. The recommendation to use Yannis at SevenCar Rental was exactly the type of local knowledge that you need when you are visiting a new area. The villa is perfectly located for exploring the island whether you want to go East, West or South and the town of Rethymno is a perfect town for shopping, chilling or eating. There are several great restaurants within a short drive. The outdoor oven with a supply of wood is a great option for cooking for yourself.And no review would be complete without mentioning the 4 legged tourist ambassador that greats you every time you come back to your home from home - Bella was the perfect bundle of energy that bounced around to say hi and brought a bigger smile to our faces.Thank you Yannis for sharing your villa with us and we look forward to staying again.

First have to mention the responsiveness and friendliness of Yiannis in welcoming us with a home-cooked meal and giving lots of tips, etc. Above and beyond expectations. The pool area is great for kids and clean, the grill works great, and you can even monitor the kids from one of the balconies. Kitchen is well-equipped (which is often not the case in these types of properties) and rooms are clean and comfortable. Rethymno is an easy 15-20min drive, and you have nice access to some of the mountain towns and hikes in Rethymnon as well. Recommended!
