The Clarendon - Bantry Bay

Our room was spacious with a beautiful view of the ocean. The bathroom was well stocked. The bedding was of high quality and the bed very comfortable.

The room needs a bit of an update. The portraits were all hanging skew and we had to adjust it. It is small details that other 5 star establishments give attention to. The carpet in our room needs to be updated or replaced. Housekeeping did not replenish coffees for day 2 and also removed a bathtowel and did not replace it. We had to share a towel. Again this is suppose to be a 5 star establishment and this should be a given. The breakfast is average. The staff member serving breakfast was attentive however on day 1 he was watching videos on his cell phone while we were enjoying our breakfast, I had to ask if he would mind using earphones as the sound was so loud. This again is not what we would expect of a 5 star establishment. We did mention it to the reception and the next morning he apologized. It feels like the running of this establishment is left to the staff without supervision from senior management.

The hotel is very bad soundproof and not a 5 star hotel (maybe 3 star). Avoid room 14 next to the reception, you won't be able to sleep and the room is super dark. For this price better take a good airbnb. The owner offered us because of the noise 2 free nights which didnt make sense as we left after. We sent then an email and asked for a discount which she was willing to and said she sent the money, money up until now never arrived (despite multiple times asking back, i wont be asking again)
