Cold water shower one morning

A good location near restaurants and grocery stores and a short walk to English Bay. The suite was clean with a modern kitchen with dishwasher (dishwasher tablets included) and modern bathroom with a great shower!! We had a King bed in the bedroom and fold out couch in the living area for our kids. There was a balcony off the living area and underground parking is $25 per night. There is a washer/dryer. Staff were friendly. Good gym facilities.

There is aircon but only in the living area and we found the bedroom got too hot. We left the aircon on but it didn’t really reach the bedroom. When the couch was folded out to a bed there was very little space left in the living area. There is a washer/dryer but no detergent - a pack of detergent would be helpful.

Spacious apartment with everything you need, walk to cafe restaurants and beach. We stayed here for 4 nights after a cruise, loved being able to walk to lots of places with public transport close by and airport train line 10 min walk down slight hill. Staff were fantastic able to drop off our luggage early on arriving as well as leave luggage for the day on departure so we could venture some more before late flight that night. Room was very comfortable and clean. The young lady at reception was very lovely when we arrived and gave us a map of the area and great recommendations for cafes and restaurants as well as provide a good guide of the area.

I booked the hotel because of the great pictures of its outdoor pool. Info on the hotel's website from 2025 said it opened on Victoria Day in 2025, so I assumed it would be available on May 23 this year (Victoria Day was May 18). There was no info for 2026, only 2025. I was wrong, and the pool was closed. While I made a faulty assumption based on old information (my fault), I think the hotel was very unclear about this highly-promoted amenity. On Booking.com, the pool is promoted in three places on Sandman's page before the site eventually notes it is currently closed - obviously I missed this info. It's very poor communication, and it was a huge disappointment for my daughter and friends, who were celebrating a birthday and had requested a hotel with a pool as the top priority. If you want the pool, make sure you triple-check. The cleanliness of the balcony was also a disappointment, as it had some sort of old animal dirt (possibly decomposed prey) that meant the girls didn't go out and enjoy the lovely view. Overall, in this case, it was poor value for the money.
