Cottage in Wales
Reasons to book
About this cottage rental
Ideally set for Hay-on-Wye (the town of books) it has many footpaths running near the property or a short drive away. There's a large-sized, enclosed garden for children to run around in and one (well-behaved) dog is also welcome.
Track
The track up to Llangain is quite steep in parts but has a good, if rough solid stone surface. Unless there's been a lot of rain, snow or ice, it's suitable for most vehicles except those with low undercarriages.
Through the Cottage Door
You enter via the oak front door which takes you into the sitting room with log burner, comfy seating, and television. The kitchen also has a log burner, along with an electric oven/hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, and dining area with farmhouse table that will comfortably seat 6 and chairs.
A hallway off the kitchen leads to the bathroom (with shower, bath, wash basin and WC) and ladder which takes you up to a twin bedroom (with 2 x 2ft 6inch beds that can be pushed together). Please note the ladder is not suitable for use by very young children unsupervised.
On the first floor there are three more bedrooms; a KS double, a single bedroom and standard double.
Heating is provided by storage heaters and log burners (x 2 baskets of logs are provided in each space with additional available to purchase, please let us know if you have an electric car).
Bed linen and bath towels are also provided. I aim for comfy mattresses (gradually replacing for Wool Room), good quality, crisp bedlinen, mostly from Secret Linen and now almost all duvets are from The Wool Room as well! All to ensure a good night's sleep
Garden
The garden is quite wild in places to attract the birds and other wildlife and native speicies of plants. There's a flat grassy area with picnic tables for al fresco dining with a wonderful view.
