This traditional Suffolk cottage is in the charming village of Lavenham. The property welcomes three guests and makes a delightful retreat for a couple or a small family looking to soak up the history of one of England’s best-preserved medieval villages. The cottage is also a fantastic base for keen walkers, with a network of scenic tracks and trails branching away from the village. From Lavenham, it’s easy to enjoy a day trip to Bury St Edmunds or Sudbury (both within 12 miles).

The charming brick and flint cottage offers a welcoming retreat after a day of exploring. Unwind in the cosy lounge, where you’ll find comfortable seating set around a Smart TV and a flame-effect electric fire in an ornamental fireplace. The separate kitchen is a bespoke, contemporary space with everything needed for a self-catering break. Whip up a tasty feast here, using fresh ingredients from your travels, to share together in the cute dining area just off the kitchen. When it’s time for bed, head upstairs to find two inviting bedrooms for a good night’s sleep. A refreshing shower room completes the accommodation. Outside, discover an attractive, enclosed courtyard with bistro-style furniture, allowing you to enjoy an al fresco dinner on a balmy, summer’s evening. On-street parking is available within the village, subject to availability.

Lavenham is bursting with history, and you can learn all about the village’s fascinating past in the Guild Hall, just 100 metres from the cottage. Take a stroll around the village’s narrow streets, admiring the photogenic, timber-framed buildings, before popping into one of the many independent shops or art galleries dotted throughout the village. You’ll find further retail delights in nearby Bury St Edmunds (12 miles), which is also known as Suffolk’s foodie capital thanks to its fabulous array of cafes and restaurants. The cottage is also perfectly placed for exploring the breathtaking landscape of Constable Country (15 miles).
