This charming cottage overlooks the historic marketplace in the idyllic Suffolk village of Lavenham. The property sleeps four guests and makes a delightful couples’ retreat or base for a small family. You’ll be perfectly placed to explore some of Suffolk’s finest market towns, such as Bury St Edmunds (12 miles), as well as enjoy long walks amongst the breathtaking landscape of Constable Country (15 miles).

The traditional Suffolk cottage beautifully blends characterful original features with contemporary decor and homely touches. At the heart of the home is a welcoming lounge/diner, with comfortable sofas arranged around a Smart TV and an ornamental fireplace. Unwind here after a countryside walk, warming your toes by the flame-effect electric fire or sharing mealtimes around the dining table. The separate, farmhouse-style kitchen has everything needed to rustle up delicious dinners for the group. When the day is done, climb the cottage-style stairs to discover two tastefully decorated bedrooms. Completing the accommodation is a refreshing family bathroom. Outside, sip a morning coffee at the bistro-style table in the enclosed courtyard or enjoy a spot of al fresco dining on a balmy summer’s evening. On-street parking is available within the village, subject to availability.

Wander out of the cottage and straight into the heart of Lavenham, with its gorgeous timber-framed buildings and narrow streets. Just 100 metres away is the Guild Hall, which houses a museum where you can learn all about the fascinating past of this picture-postcard medieval village. You’ll find a good range of independent shops and eateries within the village, or for a full day of retail therapy, head to the nearby market towns of Sudbury (7 miles) or Bury St Edmunds (12 miles). The countryside surrounding Lavenham is a haven for walkers, with footpaths through ancient woodlands and across open fields.
