About this cottage rental
This attractive cottage, set on a working farm, is ideal for families and friends looking for a restful holiday surrounded by the beautiful Waveney Valley. Whatever the season, the farm is a haven for wildlife and nature lovers will be able to watch for swallows nesting in the barns, kingfishers on the moat, hares in the fields and barn owls in the woods. Children will adore the chance to bottle-feed lambs in the lambing season. There are also fresh eggs to collect from the nesting boxes.
A pretty property all on one level with a stylish interior that retains a wealth of original features, including vaulted ceilings and exposed beamed ceilings and walls, provides a perfect escape to the country. Entry is via two steps or a gentle ramp. The open-plan living area is designed for relaxation with comfortable sofas to sink into after a day of exploring, and you can watch the TV. Pop a log onto the wood burner in the winter for a cosy evening. French doors lead out from the sitting area to the garden. The contemporary kitchen has all the appliances you need to prepare delicious treats from local ingredients. There are three bedrooms to choose from: a king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a super king-size zip and link (which can be arranged as twin beds on request) and a further twin room. There is an additional bathroom with a large wet room shower. Outside you’ll discover a lovely terrace with garden furniture and a BBQ, perfect for dining alfresco. The enclosed garden comes with a summer house and play activities for children.
The historic market town of Bungay (six miles) has beautiful castle ruins to explore and some delicious local cheese. For a traditional seaside experience, head to Southwold (14 miles) with your buckets, spades, and water sports gear. Bird and nature lovers must head to RSPB Minsmere (17 miles), where there is something for all the family among the walks, wildlife, and Wild Wood Adventure.
