Large wooden house with a surrounding terrace, sauna and play island, in the heart of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, ideal for hikers, toddler equipment available
This spacious wooden house was renovated in 2015 and awaits its guests with newly designed rooms. The detached holiday home is located in the Waltersdorf district, above the spa town of Rathen. Waltersdorf is located on the plateau between Lilienstein and Polenztal and nestles in the green of the forests that reach right up to the village. An ideal starting point for bike tours and hikes in the Saxon Switzerland National Park.
The house has a total living area of 212 m² and offers space for eight people on two floors. Wooden floors and walls paneled with wood create a cozy living atmosphere. Since there are no carpets, the holiday home is also ideal for allergy sufferers. All rooms are also heated in an environmentally friendly way with pellet heating. On the ground floor there is a cozy living room with an open fireplace, satellite.-TV, home entertainment, CD, DVD, Bluray player and an iPod / iPhone docking station. The open, new kitchen is fully equipped with a ceramic hob, fridge, dishwasher, oven, raclette, fondue sets (chinoise, cheese), coffee machine (whole beans), toaster and kettle. The dining area for twelve people directly adjoins the kitchen. On the other side of the hallway is one of the four bedrooms. It has a double bed (180 x 200 cm) and a dressing room, which is followed by a small wellness area consisting of a sauna (for a fee), shower, relaxation room with loungers and sink, and a guest toilet. The stairs lead up to the first floor, where there is a hallway and a gallery with seating. The remaining three bedrooms and the shower room with toilet are also upstairs. There are two large bedrooms, each with a double bed (180 x 200 cm) and a double bed (180 x 200 cm). The small bedroom is the children's room, which has a bunk bed with two beds (80 x 200 cm above, 140 x 200 cm below).
You will surely be amazed by the large, all-round terrace with barbecue and seating. Here everyone will find their favorite place to relax, sunbathe or read. Little guests were also thought of. There is a play island for them next to the house. There are three parking spaces available. The property is completely fenced. Pets are only allowed on request.
With additional booking of the two-person apartment, which is located in the basement of the house, the house is available for sole use. In the house there is complete toddler equipment with cots (without bedding and linen), high chair, toilet equipment, swing and children's play area. It is a non-smoking house, but smoking is allowed on the terrace. A wireless internet connection is available free of charge. Mountain bikes can be rented.
There are numerous hiking trails around the village, which also reward the short walk with wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding rock and mountain landscape. The immediate vicinity of the spa town of Rathen (two kilometers), the Bastei and the Felsenbühne Rathen are a particular plus. The huge, developed hiking area between Pirna and Bohemian Switzerland offers a direct entry into the Saxon Switzerland Nature Park. Sporty guests appreciate the extensive bike and mountain bike network. Both Pirna and Dresden can be reached by public transport (bus, boat, train). Bad Schandau and Rathen offer you fine dining. The Tuscan thermal baths await you only six kilometers away, even in bad weather. There are shops in Bad Schandau.

Five of us spent a most enjoyable few days at the Kraxlhuette. There was plenty of space, the beds were comfortable and the showers excellent. The village pub,Stiller Fritz, is 10 minutes walk away and does good hearty meals. There is plenty to do in the Saxon Switzerland. Our only gripe was that the internet worked intermittently.
