We arrived in Pirna before the official check-in, and the host welcomed us to leave our luggage in one of the cleaned rooms. Therefore, we could explore Pirna for a few hours before checking in officially. This gave us an opportunity to have lunch and relax in the city center. Afterwards, when we came back, everything was ready, and the handover of the keys was very thorough.
There was a big kitchen and dining area where we could cook and prepare food for breakfast and dinner. The fridge was big enough and there was a stove, but no oven, which didn't bother us at all. There is a dishwasher and a table for 6, which can be expanded. The bedrooms were cozy, and what everyone liked was that there was a sink in the bedrooms so people could do things like brusing their teeth and doing their hair without hogging the bathrooms.
The living room was big, and there was a big selection of board games and even a Super Nintendo for the kids.
We had access to the garden and even the little herbal garden with a cherry tree and currant bushes that were fruiting at the time. In the garden was a barbecue, and we had a cookout one evening.
The villa is only about a 5-minute walk from the train station and a 15-minute walk from the main square of Pirna, perfect for exploring the area of Saxon Switzerland.
One extraordinary service was when we wanted to go to the swimming pool in Pirna. We asked the host for extra towels and she provided them to us, even when she didn't have to! We could have rented towels at the swimming pool, but it's quite expensive. That made our day!

Very clean and in a great location. Helena was very friendly and even gave us a pass for free train rides within a certain area. That was an added bonus.
It did not have an oven but we made due without. Not a big deal for us.

It's hard to find a space for 3 families with 12 people in total and Villa Schmidt has it at excellent value. Parking is available for free. it's clean and there is enough space for everyone to sit around a table. 5 minutes walk to Pirna station
It's a former hostel which also means that each room looks very different, mix of styles. Kitchenware is available for 12, but there is no oven and just two cooking plates, and the mix of styles applies here also.
