NEVER VACATIONED ON LUMMI ISLAND? Here are some VERY important things to note:
1) There are no roads/bridges to this island. All vacationers and homeowners access the island by ferry boat. Once on the island, you're only a 2min drive to Driftwood Dreams!
2) There are no major grocery stores on the island. (There is a small one which is very reliable for stocking the basics (and a bit more)). All vacationers and homeowners provision their houses by shopping at the major grocery stores on the mainland prior to crossing over to the island.
Yes, there is some legwork involved in planning a vacation on Lummi Island, but the effort is worth it because this is what makes Lummi Island so special!...Step away from the real world, relax...and explore!

Driftwood Dreams is one of the few vacation properties on Lummi Island that is within walking distance to, the Beach Store Café for a great meal or a pint of beer, the entrance to a pristine public beach, the ferry dock to the mainland, the Lummi Island Library, the Saturday (farmers/art) Market, and the Islander Store for groceries or fresh baked cookies.
Driftwood Dreams is perfectly setup for a quiet couple's getaway, a ladies trip, or for some quality, unplugged family time! Soak in the undisturbed views of Hale Passage waterway, Mt. Baker, and the Canadian Cascades as you lounge on one of the home's two expansive decks! Sip on your morning coffee or an evening cocktail to enjoy the view while cozied up under a blanket. Our beautifully renovated, high bank waterfront home is modern and meticulously maintained. Come enjoy Driftwood Dreams on the idyllic Lummi Island!

BEDROOMS (3) / BATHROOMS (2): **Sky View Master Bedroom: on second floor, luxurious king sized bed with smartlife relaxation mattress by King Koil (select your firmness level and enjoy relaxation features), built in drawers, sliding glass door for access to the upper deck. **Upstairs Bathroom: shared by the Sky View master and the Beachy-Keen Master - large sink with ample counter space, spacious, glass walled, custom-tiled shower with two shower heads. **Beachy-Keen Master: on second floor, king sized bed, double door clothes closet, built in drawers, large solid wood desk - a great spot to work if work-from-home is needed! **Sea Glass Bedroom: on the main floor, queen sized bed, closet, built in dresser drawers. **Main Bathroom: on the main floor, bright and beautifully updated - large sink with counter space, shower/bath combo is great for bubble baths after a long day on the beach.
KITCHEN: Driftwood Dream's kitchen is sure to please all levels of culinary expertise! Well stocked, open concept, stainless steel appliances, 5 burner gas range, variety of pots and pans, ample dishware, and expansive coffee station.
Note: The Islander Store is not huge so you may want to plan your meals ahead and do some grocery shopping in Bellingham before your arrival. This provides a fun opportunity to meal plan some favorites or try some new, tantalizing North West recipes - seafood linguine, a wedge salad, and a local white wine anyone? Dining-in or carrying-out from The Beach store Cafe.
--OUTDOOR LIVING--
MAIN LEVEL DECK: Just off the living room, comfortable overstuffed seating around a circular conversation table, hammock swing, dining table seats 6. A great spot to look beyond the tall evergreens, watch boats motor by, and enjoy the view of Mt. Baker!
UPPER LEVEL DECK: Just off the Sky View master, grab a good book (the library on the island has shelves full) and a cozy blanket. Relax on the outdoor beanbag-style chair, or enjoy an appetizer and a drink at chairs & side table for two as you watch the seabirds soar by.
LARGE GRASSY AREA: Perfect for a rousing game of corn hole, a picnic in the sun, or some cartwheels!

BEACHES: Visit Sunset Beach and Church Beach. Closest beach access to Driftwood Dreams is between the house and the ferry dock (next to the dock)) is a county park with an observation deck - great spot to watch the ferry come and go. Visit during low tide and explore the tide pools.

VARIETY OF ART GALERIES: Cruise the island and look for signs...there are happy little gems around every corner. Take home a Lummi Island souvenir and support a local artist - win-win!

This is our second stay at Molly’s property. It is the perfect place to get the kink out of your jaw and neck. So incredibly restful and comfortable. The house is perfectly appointed, down to fresh spices and really nice linens plus very comfortable beds. You need nothing but some groceries, some wine & coffee and a good book. Molly offers a great selection of jigsaws if you are so inclined. Truly the best choice on the island.

Nice to meet Anna a local when we arrived. Weather didn’t cooperate but we had the best girls trip with cozy fireplace, lots of laughs, and great kitchen as we cooked our meals.

I think this was our tenth stay at Driftwood Dreams on Lummi Island, and it was as peaceful and rejuvenating as the nine stays that came before. From serene interiors to magnificent views to immaculate housekeeping, this gem of island living is truly special.
Owners Molly and Ned have thought of everything to help enhance the guest experience - from the most comfortable high-end mattresses to quality sheets to a big screen Smart TV and upscale appliances, indoor and outdoor fireplaces, an outdoor grill that cooks to perfection, remote-controlled ceiling fans (so attractive and effective I've even ordered the same one to install in our own home!), spacious deck and upstairs balcony from which to enjoy the tides and herons and Eastern views all day long, huge walk-in shower upstairs where you can open the window and get a peekaboo view of the water while you shower, light switch dimmers downstairs for ambiance, string lights down to the little dock at the water where you can sit and read a book, and every pot and pan and bowl and utensil you could ever need, there's even a waffle-maker! And all so clean! Even after our tenth visit over a handful of years, it all still feels brand new.
And when you're ready to get out and stretch your legs, Lummi Island has so much natural wonder to offer - from sunset walks on Legoe Bay to picnics on Sunset Beach with a phenomenal view of Orcas Island (and Orca whales if you're lucky - we've seen them once - and almost always a seal or two) to tranquil hike-walks through Curry Preserve where right now, the wild blackberries are bursting with plump and flavor! Island amenities keep getting added, too, so along with the Beach Store Cafe (best smash burger anywhere!), there's now The Galley - a delightful little sandwich shop with both outdoor and indoor seating where we enjoyed delicious panini and a glass of wine - and Full Bloom Farm up Centerview Road where you can purchase farm-grown veggies and herbs and flowers, baked goods, as well as local meats and salmon - don't miss out on the amazing Lummi Island sockeye caught right in Legoe Bay! Oh, and there's The Little Red Cabin on Legoe Bay where you can pop in and purchase Salish Center canned Lummi Island salmon and locally havested seaweed. And on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings, get yourself one of Terra's delicious lattes at Bock's Box, the cute little yellow trailer-turned-coffee-truck right next to the Islander store. But honestly, coming back to the serenity of the little blue house at the water's edge is the best part of every day. We will joyfully return again and again!

Molly was beyond fantastic. Beautiful home, well organized and classy decorating! I reached out to Molly twice for different things and she was prompt, thorough and professional in her response! I’ll definitely stay at her property again!
