While only a 5 minute walk to the busy village, the area was very quiet and serene. The hosts were very nice and gave great information about the area.
As I’m a little jumpy around vocal dogs, the dogs barking made me a little nervous as we came and went, but there was never anything more than just barking.

1. Pretty single-building on a quiet street some ways into town. Beautiful both outside and inside with excellent choice of interior decor.
2. Has a common kitchen that guests are free to use (with expectation to cleanup after themselves), comes with choice of snacks and tea along with utensils.
3. Very conveniently close by the entrance to the Hallstatt salt mine (where you'd embark on a funicular ride). Great for those looking to visit the attraction.
4. A kind person (I presume to be the host) greeted me outside the building to point me in the right direction to the entrance, and helped me into the building and the room.
5. Host had a good system in place for sending the building & room access code over via email and SMS prior to check-in day. No form of manual check-in and check-out needed at reception.
1. A relatively long walk from the ferry jetty after disembarking. Bring a comfortable pair of shoes.
2. Room is a little compact. Was perfectly fine for myself and one bag of luggage, but might be a squeeze for those looking to lay open multiple bags.
