The property is located centrally in Bayeux making it very walkable to sites and shops. However, cars and motorbikes sometimes speed past the property creating a lot of noise as their engine noise ricochets off the buildings. This is not the property’s fault, but something guests should consider if quiet is a priority. The property has a good amount of space, three bedrooms and a large living room.
The property advertises 2 bathrooms, but guests should know that it only has one toilet. The listing is truthful in that there are two rooms with showers and sinks. One toilet would not be so bad except for that walking through the hallway comes with a lot of noise from the creaking of the wood floors. Therefore, middle of the night bathroom visits led to waking up the rest of the family.
Additionally, one should know that while this property advertises air conditioning, there were no directions on how to access it. There are wall-mounted units scattered around the house, but most of them did not turn on. It’s my fault for not seeking help here, but the owners should consider leaving written instructions for guests. As a result, we were quite uncomfortable during our stay. Bayeux is not normally as warm as it was during our visit, so it is likely not a frequent problem. If only there had been ceiling fans or just oscillating fans to move the air, we would have been more comfortable. I barely slept on the final night of our two-night stay.
One more miscommunication in the listing is that it says the property has a washer and dryer. It has a clothes washing machine, but the “Dryer” is simply a drying rack.
