We had an unforgettable stay at Axoni Windmill House in Othos. The property is truly unique, combining history and comfort in the most charming way. The windmill has been beautifully restored, offering stunning views of the mountains and sea. Everything was spotless, well equipped, and thoughtfully designed to make us feel at home.
The location in Othos is perfect—peaceful and authentic, yet only a short drive to beaches and towns.
Everything was amazing, and we would highly recommend Axoni Windmill House to anyone visiting Karpathos. We can’t wait to come back!

Jedyny w swoim rodzaju prawdziwy wiatrak przerobiony na domek. Usytuowany w zabytkowej alei 35 starych wiatraków na Karpathos (z dala od innych zabudowań) obok jedynie kaplica, w niedalekiej odległości wioska Othos i mały sklepik (bardzo dobrze zaopatrzony) oraz restauracja serwująca pyszną lokalną kuchnię. Cisza i spokój. Przepiękny widok na miasto Karpathos z tarasu. Właściciele wspaniali, reagujący natychmiast. Bardzo polecam!

As a travel journalist and Lonely Planet author, I have slept in all kinds of places across over a 100 countries - and this is one of the most unique places I have ever stayed. The location is a dream, with insane views across the island and a front row seat for both sunrises and sunsets. It’s surrounded by ruined windmills, of which there used to be 60 or so some 300 years ago. The renovation of the windmill is very well-done and we loved just about everything. The island itself and (all its beaches) is spectacular! The location is surely remote, but Othos village is close by and driving up and down became a bit of a sport! We stayed 12 days (two adults, one 4-year-old) and I could have moved in permanently!
There are some minor inconveniences (it’s definitely windy, the electricity load is low, so you can’t bake in the oven and have the hot water on at the same time, for example; and there is a water scarcity on the island in general, but the owner was totally on top of this), but nothing unexpected for remote island living and nothing that wasn’t easily solved.
