We recently spent 8 wonderful nights at Once Upon a Time in Montenegro. We were a group of four – me, my brother and his wife and their teenage son – and the house suited us perfectly with two double bedrooms and one with two singles. In addition there are two living areas one upstairs and one downstairs, both with a TV and air conditioning, along with a dining room and balconies and other outdoor spaces that allowed us to be together but also to be able to find our own spaces. The pool was great and we swam every day and used the BBQ for some of our evening meals. The house was clean and contained many kitchen staples including pods for the coffee machine, cooking ingredients, BBQ fuel and various soaps and powders for the bathroom and for the washing machine. The house itself is located outside of Sutamore in little valley leading up from the highway near Haj Nehaj. Whilst this is not in the middle of the hustle and bustle and the resturants and bars of Sutamore beach it is easily accessible and from the main road you can go south towards Bar or North to Petrovac, Budva and Kotor or take a pick of many of the local beaches. Whilst there are local taxis it is probably better suited to people with their own transport or a hire car.
My personal highlight about this stay was my interactions with the owner Irena. She was in regular contact with me prior to my stay letting me know the exact GPS location of the property, sending me new pictures and details on the house, and providing suggestions of beaches and other places of interest and generally ensuring I had all the information I needed prior to my arrival. Once there she checked in to make sure that everything was going ok and was able to provide further suggestions on restaurants and arranged a taxi for me back to Podgorica. Irena was so hospitable encouraging us to treat the house as if it were our own making us feel relaxed which in turn led to a great holiday. Thank you
