About this house rental
In the heart of the Luberon nature park, between the Vaucluse Mountains and the Provençal Colorado, the "Grande Bastide" manor has overlooked the valley for centuries.
Set in a four-hectare estate, the property is surrounded by gardens, vineyards, and an olive and fruit orchard.
It backs onto a wood of centuries-old oaks and pines.
It is a very peaceful and restful place.
La Grande Bastide includes 4 independent properties, including La Maison des Rosiers, which is very popular with our guests.

La Maison des Rosiers is a large residence of 250m2 on two floors. It has its own terrace, lawn and courtyard of fragrant rose bushes.
A large table in the shade of the vines provides a peaceful and comfortable space at any time of day.
The house comprises, on the ground floor :
- A large, fully-equipped kitchen opening onto the terrace
- A spacious dining room with table and chairs for 8 people
- A sitting room with fireplace, television and sofa.

- A storeroom for your shopping and belongings.
First floor:
- A first bedroom with a double bed 160 x 200cm
- A second bedroom with a double bed 160 x 200cm
- A third bedroom with a double bed 140 x 200cm
- A fourth twin bedroom with two single beds 90 x 200cm

- One bathroom and one shower room

All the gardens, woods, the olive orchard and the swimming pool of La Grande Bastide are accessible to our guests only. Please respect the flora and fauna, as well as other potential residents.
From the pool (6m x 12m, secured) you have a magnificent view of the Vaucluse Mountains, the Luberon, the valley and the vineyards. The pool lining was completely renovated in 2024. The water is treated with magnesium salts, making it odourless and much gentler for your skin than conventional chlorine.
The pool is regularly cleaned and maintained by a specialised company. Sun loungers and a shower are available by the pool.
Access to the property is via an automated gate requiring a security code. The entrance road is flat and lined with trees and plants, leading directly to the private car park in front of the residence. The property is enclosed by a fence.
La Grande Bastide is close to many of Provence's historic sites, including Roussillon, Gordes, Sault, Forcalquier and Manosque. You can also reach Avignon, Aix en Provence, Cavaillon and Carpentras in an hour or less.
The region is very popular with walkers and cyclists. You can walk to the Colorado Provençal in less than 10 minutes and follow the many trails within it. You can also enjoy wonderful bike rides through vineyards and lavender fields (in season), and perhaps take on the legendary Tour de France routes up Mont Ventoux.
Many local markets are within easy reach. The famous Apt market, dating back to the 12th century, attracts crowds every Saturday to find local products. You'll also find local wine and olive oil producers.

Our group loved our time at La Grande Bastide. It was a great place to gather and base ourselves for cycling in the area.

The bastide, gardens and pool gave us everything we expected from a vacation in rural France. The kitchen was well equipped and very large. Beds were comfy. The pool and the garden were lovely to relax around. The owner, Bin was really lovely and kind to deal with. I would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic setting. Farmhouse simply furnished but perfect for children, with a real French feel. Pool nicely situated, so safe for young children. Pool overlooks vineyards with hills in the distance. Accommodation nicely situated between Apt and Rustrel as well as many other beautiful Provence towns. We will return one day. Loved it!

We had a wonderful time at La Grande Bastide! The view from the pool is spectacular—in early July you overlook vineyards and lavender fields. The bastide is large and we had a bigger apartment in it, spacious living area with a kitchen, living room, dining room, storage space, and half bathroom downstairs. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, one toilet, two bathrooms with showers and sinks, and more storage space. There was no air conditioning, but the place stayed cool with the shutter closed. There is also an outdoor private courtyard with a table and a grill, and then more shared picnic tables and a ping pong table under a large plane tree. You can wander around the gardens (lavender, mulberry trees, olive trees, etc.) or relax in one of the many comfortable lounge chairs at the pool (there are sunny and shady spots at the pool).
The bakery in Rustrel is wonderful, and there are larger grocery stores in Apt (and also close to the many weekly markets around the different towns). It was easy to drive to places like Gordes, Roussillon, Lacoste, etc. and a beautiful drive through the mountains to visit Lourmarin.
When we return to the area I would definitely book an apartment at La Grande Bastide again.
