About this house rental
A short distance from sailing, windsurfing, and more, this smoke-free vacation home lets you experience it all. Ouistreham Beach is within an easy 6-minute walk and N4 Commando Museum is also a quick 8-minute walk away, so leave your car at the property, which offers onsite parking.
This 2-bedroom rental features a sofa bed and a BBQ grill. Connect to the free WiFi, or get cozy in front of the cable/satellite TV. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, a stovetop, and a refrigerator, as well as a coffee maker, an electric kettle, and a microwave. It proved excellent for 5 people being well equipped for long and short stays. The close proximity to beach and restaurants helps with convenience as no car needed. The surrounding streets are quiet, safe and beautifully tree lined. The garden is a lovely resource and is child friendly with a great swing. Whilst not a new property it is adequate, with clean bedding and towels with a separate toilet and shower room, essential with children. The washing machine was a great help with drying space outside. Visiting for the D day landing sites is ideal as it is close to Pegasus bridge and is actually on Sword beach. I would recommend it as a holiday destination.

We stayed in this beautiful and very well equipped house for 2 weeks in July 2018. There is everything you may need in store in the house itself (especially the kitchen). Even a flat-TV and a DVD-player are there. We had great times at the veranda and in the garden, where our 2 kids loved to play in the morning and evening. You may even make a big barbecue as there is a solid barbecue installed. The house itself is located in a quiet street and the beach is really near - just 3 minutes to walk. When you get there, you are in the guarded area of the beach. It is a very lovely place and we were lucky to have many days which were warm enough to stay for hours at the beach.
Ouistreham/Riva Bella itself has some things to offer, and we made many excursions in the vicinity, Bayeux is an absolute MUST. :)
Monsieur Chapuis, the owner of the house, was very kind and the couple who looks after the house was very friendly. The only problem was that our French is too rusty to be able to explain more complicated situations, but this is neither the fault of Mr. Chapuis nor Mr. Lafargue. ;)
We can recommend this appartment strongly for a family with a maximum of 2 kids, the only thing that is a bit difficult is that the space between the toilet and the bathroom is very small, and the bathroom itself is small, but one can manage. Our kids are 7 and 3, so we didn't have a problem. You'll have everything you need, and in our case we had very nice neighbours in the other appartment, who helped us out a bit at our last day. But if you don't want to you'll neither see nor hear much from your neighbours.
All in all we had a great time in the Normandy and our sincere thanks go out to Monsieur Chapuis for making this a beautiful, relaxing vacation. THANKS!
